The greatest historical thriller series I've read is The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell, but the series was such a big disappointment, despite sticking to the books

I have seen the Last Kingdom to the end and the way Uthred of Bebbanburg just dey get victory dey always make me laugh. The man na idan gangan.

I get what you mean sha but if it's an historical events, there's not much they can do when it comes to plot since they are telling a story that already exist. That's just my opinion anyways.

My issue with the plot for Shogun so far is the Barbarian luck is becoming unbelievable. Ishido ordered the Barbarian locked up, then assassin's were sent after him, yet let him walk through the gates of Osaka

Also that general under Lord Toronagara is clearly known to be a snake and yet still lives, in a society that values loyalty unto death

Some stuff is looking like they will start using our head in this series soon

The man the story is based must have had unbelievable luck in real life as he became probably the first Western Samurai and also one of the top advisers to the Shogun.
Remember that the assassins were not sent by Ishido but by the Catholic members of the regency council of elders. Allowing him to walk through the gates of Osaka though is a bit iffy though i agree.


With regards to the daimyo Yabushige, both sides were courting him because he has territories and forces that might come in handy when war finally breaks out. Toronaga was playing the long game with him cos if Toronaga in his difficult situation kills him flippantly, no other daimyo would join him.

Also, he is not really a general under Toronaga but a daimyo in his own right ruling over his own territories just like Toronaga. It just happens that Toronaga is a powerful daimyo who has seniority and influence.

I think the government of Delta state has a part to play in restoring peace to that community. The governor needs to visit the area and also speak to the army authorities to get their assurance that no extra judicial killings should be carried out by their officers.

The governor needs to summon the traditional leaders of the communities and discuss possibility of identifying the perpetrators of the killings.

Without anybody of authority like the governor stepping in, I'm afraid those military guys will harm a lot of innocent people
