It's difficult not to give it ethnic coloration when we literally experience this consistently. Especially when you've lived through it too and what happened as a kid is still happening as an adult
Is Zaki Biam also in the south south or south east ?

That is how Nigerian Army act with impunity right from time once their personnel are attacked .

Do u even remember the 2005 police-army crisis in Ojuelegba ? Do u know how many policemen , innocent civilians were affected when the soldiers went on rampage after their officers were attacked ?

Like I said earlier , the conversation should center around having a military that will not resort to extra judicial killings anytime and anywhere their personnel are attacked

The middle belt isn't considered north (except when it comes to politics by arewa) .
If you go through my earlier posts, I made it a north vs south thing which you are correlating.
And honestly I have seen no reason to change my stance.
I can even understand it happening during the early 2000s as we just came out from the military regime.
But it's been consistent behaviour down south especially in the SS region.

I don't know about the SE situation well enough.
But for the South, the military doesn't hesitate in retaliation without any form of investigation.

Apparently the Bayelsa incident really happened because the army said a militant there was also responsible.. But them Don go kill 11 people.
Wooh I Don tire.

I dey try confirm if the army officials were involved in oil bunkery in that area too.

Because first, nor be army guys dey go settle issues, na police.
More gist will come out.

U are just forcing this North vs South thing when it's clear the issue at hand is a "Nigerian Militray thing"

Between 12th-14th December 2015 Nigerian army killed at least 348 shiites members in Zaria , Kaduna state. Why? Because they blocked the convoy of Buratai while he was driving by. The soldiers went as far as going after those that survived the initial attack and allegedly killed them in the makeshift hospital they were being treated in Zakzaky's compound. Such is the viciousness of the Nigerian army in such instances..

U see that this just one example trumps everything u've written up there? At least 2015 is 16 years after military regime and core northerners were killed by the same army for not even killing a single soldier.

And in my previous write up, I talked about the army in recent times.
Again when I argue about a point, I have my angles covered.

You can refer back to my previous posts over the weekend.

So we should forget about what the army has been doing since almost 60 years and only talk about what they did last week ?

No be so na .

The funny thing is if an army captain on mufti gets harassed on ur street here in Lagos ; I can predict most adult male in the street will not sleep with both eyes closed for the foreseeable future for fear of reprisal attacks .

That's because over time we've learnt to know how they react to issues like that outside the law

'Bloody civilians', killing soldiers on a peace mission, is a call for war in their eyes.

Obj would have done worse as President.
More soldiers died after the Odi massacre than before it in Bayelsa.
Theophilus Danjuma, the then Defense Minister, called the operation a mistake.
OBJ, the then C-in-C was not allowed to address the survivors when he visited.

Jonathan had to pay N15B in compensation.
The FG still owes around N20B.
And when next a SS president enters, we'll collect that money with interest.

There is a threshold after which the region goes from asking for restraint to going on a war footing.
We got derivation and a ministry after our response to Odi.
We gave Buhari his first recession.
It is now Tinubu who can't control leakers that'd want to repeat an Odi.

I would not be drawn to inflame tensions.
But you cannot threaten the region with another Odi.
To price our market no hard, to pay na the koko.
Tinubu would do well to ignore the hawks.

The Minister of State for Petroleum, the Minister of Niger Delta, the Governors, and non-state actors are available to broker amicable resolutions.
But if he says he wants to flex on innocent civvies. That's fine.
We reserve the right to respond at a time and manner of our choosing.

You said Urhobos killed soldiers on peacekeeping mission over a community dispute.
Then you went to kill Ijaws in Bayelsa that you claim are harboring fugitives.
And you think you can just go round the SS killing innocents in different states based on faulty intelligence.

THE AUDACITY!

There is no political gains, so its time to wish destruction on an entire village.

Next election, these same people will be online typing "God bless SS"

You are proving my point for me boss.
It should not be happening.
And I am also telling you that I've hardly heard of situations like this happening up north but it is very very common down south.

It makes it worse.
I understand that highlighting it is an issue but I'm sorry, it has gone on one too many abeg.
The Army's reaction makes it worse because it is further driving a division in between the tribes in that area also.

Last time they asked Obj, he didn't regret the military action in Odi and all the hue and cry that he would be charged to the Hague, vanished like Coogar.

I like this your chest-beating, but remember the power is absolute at the center. grin

You forget the military is stretched.
The funny thing about this is that, the infighting will consume ND without the military doing much.

But say ND focuses on the military, do you believe they can fight against the ND, SE, NE and NW at the same time.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Nobody: 10:00pm On Mar 18, 2024
Even though those ESN actions were unbecoming,Now I see why okpa and spy never wanted the Army operations in the SE,some sponsored folks would perhaps ambush the army, then you hear blood sucking demons saying flatten and level the entire region/area,lool...

I don't think this will become an ND thing. FG may subsequently use divide and rule, to prevent that in case it escalates.

So if you want the army to raze down a community you're having serious issues with, all you need do is bait the army into committing a massacre against the community by killing soldiers on their soil...we're in interesting times.

Just send an anonymous tip that the fugitives are hiding in a target community and the zombies will go there to kill innocents and burn buildings.

The sort of things you'd see Nigerians encourage overtly will leave you shocked, but then you realize you shouldn't be since no country with a critical mass of sane persons will be the way Nigeria is.

And it's mainly the same "ultra-patriotic" and ultra-corrupted cornvicts gang dem that are leading this blood lust, anything to give their messiah a toga of toughness....lovers of Nigeria want to set the country ablaze with their foolishness.

Government officials that have operated at the very highest levels are using their public accounts to call for entire communities to be razed to the ground because of the crimes of a few troublesome elements...and it's not like these communities are in another country o, they share the same country with members of the communities they're calling for their mass murder.

Yes na.
Patriotism is all about cheering for extra-judicial killings.

After I applaud the military killing innocents on social media.
I'd receive a call offline that Ochuko or Timi--a distant relative--was caught in the crossfire in one of the retributions I enthusiastically supported.

Like it's one thing to understand that the Nigerian army, just like every other Nigerian institution is filled with incompetents who are too lazy to do the grunt work of fishing out the culprits, it's another thing to drum support for them in their crazed blood lust.

That will depend on the cost price of the car. and how old the car is Most brand new cars depreciate by 20% first year and 15% after

The Accountant thing is not to buy a new car, buy like 3-4yrs old, when the value might have reduced by 50% then rock it

But as per say you be chairman you no fit dey ride used car, So tear rubber all the way like that Toyota Highlander wey you use send funlord away

50K Pounds car na agba baller car. Thats a $65k. I guess mid range might be 35k and below
Would you recommend cash or finance for your dream car or mix of both?
I’m all for cash but I don’t see why one should put all that money for a car.

That's why they will always rub the palms of those that matter in the region, for peace to reign.

But on this case, Tinubu will be careful as the C-I-C. He must not be seen to be acting indifferent to the killings of soldiers, while he must also be civil. But he won't prefer a military revolt.
