https://www./2024/03/14/full-list-of-states-paying-wage-award-to-workers-and-amounts-paid/ Full List Of States Paying Wage Award To Workers And Amounts PaidPublished 4 hours ago on 14 March 2024By Justina Otio A Report has indicated that only ten states are paying wage awards to their workers. Naija News reports that following the withdrawal of petrol subsidy and the attendant pains, the Federal Government among other cushioning policies, began payment of N35,000 wage award to its workers. It has paid for five months. On Monday, President Bola Tinubu admonished governors, who are yet to pay the wage award to start, pending the conclusion of work by the Tripartite Committee on New Minimum Wage. He made the appeal while inaugurating agricultural programmes initiated by Governor Umaru Bago in Minna, Niger State. Since the removal of petrol subsidy, federal revenue has grown significantly. Last month, all the federating units shared over N1trillion. According to a survey by The Nation only ten states are currently paying the wage award. They include, Lagos Ekiti Oyo Osun Ogun Ondo Enugu Ebonyi Adamawa Jigawa Lagos and Ondo states pay the highest wage award of N35,000 to their workers while Oyo and Enugu are second with N25,000. Ekiti and Osun pay N15,000 while Jigawa, Adamawa and Ebonyi and Ogun pay N10,000. Some of the states have also extended the payment to local government employees and pensioners. Bago announced yesterday that workers in his state would from this month get N20,000 as wage award. Niger State yesterday approved payment of N20,000 each to its workers. His Ogun counterpart, Dapo Abiodun, whose administration has been paying N10,000 monthly award to civil servants, added primary and secondary school pupils to the list |

Hopeful Rivers state may pay this month. As our governor failed to pay the N35,000 wage award (palliative) last month, it might likely come this month with arrears. As we anticipate the wage award dropping into our account this month as I heard. One should not make his or her budget with it yet, until it becomes reality. |

Re: Rivers State Teachers Recruitment 2012 by Chibuking81(m): 8:49am On Mar 16 |
sammymarvin: Our dear governor has tried for all the civil servant in the state by given all, triple promotion. Currently, the economic downturn, has crippled the increment in the salary that came with promotion. Dollar to naira was not up to N500 as of 29 May, last year, but today it has gone up to times three. Price of every thing is now times three: dollar times three, cement price times three, fuel price times three, cooking gas time three. Money shared by FAAC times three. For us to fit in with current economic situation, our previous salary before promotion has to move up to times three, to meet up with our previous salary before promotion. Possible to times four to have a different. The wage award will reduce some effect of the economic downturn, as we await the outcome of the ongoing deliberation of new minimum wage. Seriously we need new minimum wage. 1 Like |

March 19, 2024 Subsidy removal, forex liberalization drive FAAC disbursement up 23.9% to N2.1trn Solid VPS for Forex trading By Mariam Eko At the backdrop of subsidy removal and liberalization of the foreign exchange market, the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, has recorded further increase in distributable revenue with February 2024 disbursement of N2.07 trillion to the three tiers of government. The figure represents 23.9 percent rise from N1.67 trillion distributed in January 2024. The FAAC accrual has been on the rise since second quarter of 2023 after the implementation of the twin policy reform of the President Bola Tinubu administration. The latest National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, report on FAAC stated that the amount disbursed comprised of N1.15 trillion recorded from the Statutory Account, N479.03 billion from Exchange Gain, N16.59 million from Electronic Money Transfer Levy, EMTL and N420.73 billion from Value Added Tax. Every thing has triple in this our country Nigeria, these include: dollar to naira, cement price, fuel price, gas price, including FAAC allocation. Still, all level salary remain stagnant. Government should please triple the workers' salary to meet up with the current situation. |
Re: Rivers State Teachers Recruitment 2012 by Chibuking81(m): 7:01pm On Mar 19 |
This move was made to impoverish the civil servant. This is common mathematics, government just technically moved the price of everything to times three, thereby reducing the civil servant pay, by three. For instance, price of dollar was about N500 as of 29 May 2023, currently at N1500 and above. Since then, Fuel price, gas price, cement price has tripled. As a result of triple movement, FAAC allocation use to be between 500-700 billion, is now times three too. The worse still remain that workers' salary remain unchanged. Businessmen have triple the prices of their goods. So the whole problem is on the head of the civil servant. The idea of new minimum wage might be to double the pay of civil servant instead of tripling their salary, thereby technically at long run reducing their pay by 1/3, and their purchasing power, and make more money available to the government. 1 Like |
