In countries that are not Nigeria, people get married at 19. It's only in Nigeria you get men aged 40, never been married, and posting rubbish about women day and night and having sex as an achievement.

in USA, people marry as young as 17, 18 years. I have seen lots of people who are in 30s and are already grand parents

it was their local government chairman that approved the marriage.

the circumstances is that they met, they like themselves and they feel they should spend the rest of their lives together.

they seem to know more about life than you do cos marriage is part of life and a platform for bringing life into the world.

The most important part of marriage, which is financial, I'm sure, has not been sorted by this kiddos. Before you know it, pikin don full ground. All they know is man and woman matter. No skills to increase their earnings/potential and employability so that they become a valuable member of the society. No savings or investments. Not an employer of labour either. All that is in their head is relationships and sex and recreating generational poverty.

Oya you guys should do quick and join the bandwagon of those who have made it their life ambition to always blame the current president for their self-inflicted misery.

Even some matured ones that got married are also struggling or divorce. Just say positive things about their union and move on. Age is just a number...

What does the boy know about being a good husband and a good father, and what does the girl know about being a good wife and a good mother?

What does the boy do for a living and can he afford to be a sole provider for the family?

How prepared are they to face all manner of challenges that will inevitably come?

If they can answer these questions I will wish them happy married life!

An 18 year old can join the police, enlist in the military, etc but might not be able to know all you have listed because they are surrounded by an irresponsible world of duty-shirking adults. Maturity in all categories of expectations is a function of duties and values responsible members of a society observe. When they are more in number, even a 17-year old could be a dedirable father of many generations.

In my objective opinion, I believe it's a rush rush traditional marriage as they were under backlash from either one or both families which wouldn't be revealed to the public space.

By mere assessing their physical outlook, they're still young and inexperienced in terms of emotional and mental commitment to this union.

They're presently experiencing puppy love but I must let you guys know that when reality sets in, they would realize that they would've waited some more years.

In this Tinubulation Era, the odds of living a dream family life is slim...I'm not sure, the guy has gotten to a good financial stage... Probably, he recently rented a self contain apartment and he's feeling on top of the world.

Very soon, he/she would run back to their parent's homes within their villages to go and farm, in order to get foodstuffs.

Summarily, the chances of them getting to five years together in this puppy love union is slim.
