A single turn in the midfield yesterday by Onyedika and we had our best team goal in years. This was house Ivory Coast turned around their fortune by bringing in Jean Seri. Everything Seri did in the Afcon was what Onyedika would have given us and even more because he is stronger and marks better, but our clueless coach kept him on the bench just to ridicule Iwobi.
the same onyedika you said there is nothing special about him month ago?😏🥱

Loved KCs sleek movement and sharpness.

Make we no lie and shame the devil JP no sabi manage him bench for AFCON and are we seriously saying Raphael was such a poor DM we couldn't have risked him in a 3-man midfield and played Iwobi higher up in attack? undecided

Anyway the man do go.

na una no rate Raphael I no follow

I hv always rated and said that he only needs a good chance in the team to show y’all what he can do

I think finidi and torrent will mk a superb combo as assistant and head coach

Don’t know about Torrent’s coaching philosophy but for him to work with pep for many years implies he is good enough

Meanwhile we need to be wary about finidi tactics too,aw can a 10 man Ghana 🇬🇭 pin u down for a larger part of d second half wout response…so tey ,it was looking like mancity vs burnley.
This is a Friendly match not a War match.
Though it's FIFA rated but the Referee let something slide...except for the Ghana player who tend to be unfortunate by abusing the Referee.

Otto Addo, the Ghana coach was playing to his best knowing his job is as stake prior to their poor outing at the just concluded AFCON.
Some Ghanaian fans are calling some players axed from their national team so they had to make it a do or die affair to redeem their image..just like Iwobi did, and also considering its Nigeria their rival.
Nothing much expected from Finidi cos win or lose, he will still maintain his position as the assistant coach to anyone whom NFF decides to "select" as head coach. BUT again, he has to prove he's capable of the job if given an opportunity.

You can see how he reverted to our "attacking orthodox football" that has missing since Rohr & Peseiro took over? It's been our style of play doing our golden ages that makes us a reckoning force around the globe.
I bet if Peseiro was incharge, he would have sat 6 defenders @the back and left a lone striker at the front telling the players to defend deep and hit them on counters. But Finidi matched them man to man, strength to strength and created more chances in the first half. Had we had a strong feet the front, the match would have been 3-0 by 1st half.

Two years ago he was more brawn than brain. Two years is enough for a really talented player to fine-tune his game which he has done, so what's the fuse? I was one of the loud voices clamouring for his inclusion in our starting line up both on Twitter and in here, so what rubbish are you talking about that I did few months ago

Dessers is Technical but I don't know why he kept missing on his chances?
He should try to improve cos right now, Nigeria get players yakata.

Well, if we're considering missed chances at the National level, then honestly speaking, no one deserves to be our number 9 right now, because they've all been missing chances at National level.

The current African Player of the Year missed almost 10 chances at the just concluded AFCON, had the most "big chances" missed, the most offsides and scored just one goal all tournament.
You can talk about his hardworking mindset and aggressive play, but we would all be lying to ourselves if we said that Osimhen didn't have a poor AFCON.

If there's anything Dessers showed yesterday is his excellent awareness of space, ability to drag defenders away with his intelligent movement, thereby creating space for Iheanacho and Iwobi, superb link-up play, great offside awareness and a proper knowledge of when to run to either the near post or the far post.

He showed all of that in the game against Mexico, when he scored a beautiful header after a great cross from Bassey, and he showed that yesterday as well.

If I'm being honest, the only Super Eagles striker that I can boldly say has that kind of football intelligence apart from Cyriel Dessers right now is Terem Moffi and he showed that in the few minutes that he got at the AFCON.

So you want to play against a team where there will not get there moment. From the blast of the whistle we took the game to them, we did not give them much space.

The only reason I'll advocate for a foreign coach, particularly amongst those who applied will be cause they potentially won't be swayed by the NFF and players to show favouritism to certain players. Outside this, it's a waste in my opinion to invest in a C-grade European coach like we've done the last one decade.

We obviously know we don't have the money to employ a grade A coach, why not just stick to our local coaches? Save the reason I gave above, they aren't any better on paper than what we have.
