My Starlink went offline overnight and I’ve tried switching it off and on, disconnecting and reconnecting the cables at both ends (Starlink and router), I even tried resetting the router but I’m still offline. Whenever the router is trying to calculate orientation, it goes offline immediately and stays offline. Messaged support this morning, took all the necessary pictures and after a few minutes, I got a reply from support that a new cable has been sent to me at no extra cost. Through my Starlink account, I can see they are preparing the shipment.
Hopefully, the cable arrives as soon as possible. Starlink is really trying when it comes to customer support.

Have you tried to detach and reattach the cable that goes into the dishy?

Had to go up the roof twice this morning just to disconnect and reconnect the cable for the first time since when I installed it up there. The cable issue didn’t just start today. My Starlink had been going offline for some time but usually once I unplug and plug the router back, it usually connects back online but today seems to be different. I made sure I exhausted all options trying to fix it before contacting support.

There is even no need going up to the roof. If you check the Starlink app, Advanced and then find Debug data
You can see the "Cable ping drop rate" under Router submenu. This should be 0% at all times.
If it's greater than zero , it means there is a break in the cable and a new cable would solve it. If it is currently 0% with your old cable,
then a new cable won't solve the issue.

When complaining to support, part of what they request for is a picture of the dish and it’s surrounding area in order to verify that the dish has a clear view of the sky.
They suggested that I try disconnecting and reconnecting the cable at both ends (dish and router) which I told them I already did.
The last was pictures of the cable connection at both ends (dish and router) which I had to go up the roof again to snap that of the dish.

Do refrain from making blanket statements when you don't have all the facts. Just because Starlink made certain data available to us does not mean it's all there is to it. Telling the complainant that there's no need physically checking the cable is unnecessary.

Starlink recently informed me that my 75ft cable is faulty, and have sent a replacement, which is in transit. Yet my "Cable ping drop rate" is always at 0%. So, how do you explain that?

Starlink has an advanced system where they see issues around their kits. Just because we possess some knowledge about Starlink or some data is made available to us doesn't mean we should arrogate ourselves to Starlink.

No way your cable would be faulty with drop rate at 0%. No way! It's as simple as it gets. Do you even understand what a ping drop is. It means a loose or break in connection somewhere. If no data is being transferred, it would always be at 0%. For a bad cable, as soon as data transfer begins, it MUST drop. The debug data doesnt keep all the history but live data. So you need to simulate data transmission to see it. If Starlink would replace your cable as "bad", then it was dropping connection; internet or router comms. End of stories. Nothing more; nothing less. I know people who got replacement cables for what seemed like a "cable problem" but ended up with a new dish ultimately.

Got ya! One other thing I should mention (for other cases) would be that if your Starlink was in the middle of an update and lost power; you'd be in a world of pain. Unless you do one of two things:
1. Unpug the router for at least mins or more, or
2. Do a reset
It happened to me, no be say, dem say! In my case, it would show that it was establishing connection, and then disconnect, saying the cable was unplugged or there was a faulty connection between router and dish. No matter how many times I turned it on and off, and replug the cable, nothing worked. I even waited and left it on for many hours. It didn't work. Until I unplugged it and let it stay without electricity for a while.

Well in my case there was no power loss because I make use of inverter. I also left it unplugged yesterday when I was going out and when I got back home in the evening, I plugged it back in but still the same.

I know i’m safe in the hands of Starlink with the way customer support responded swiftly. Just miss the internet speed. Stuck with airtel Mifi for now since I already gave out my Mtn 5G router

TP-LINK Archer C80

That's what I use. Gives me constant 5ghz on those devices that don't catch starlink router's 5ghz.
I get down speed of 350mbps with it in the North of Nigeria. Last price I saw it at was 60k though I bought mine 43k last year.
So I got the AX23 (EU) cos price difference was just 10k. Didn't see any US router though.
5Ghz channels are limited to Band 1 (36 - 48)
Flashed Openwrt custom firmware on it and all the 5Ghz channels were unlocked.
Now here's the thing, I reverted back to OEM firmware but flashed the US version. Router rebooted and I was still stuck with Band 1 channels. Went back to Openwrt sha. Will be making use of that till I get a US router.
Although I sent them a mail to see if there's a special firmware file for switching to US version with 3 band channels unlocked, since they're unlocked in OpenWRT.
I'm in Nigeria, not the EU 😁

I would love to hear how compatible this router is with Starlink.

Was as easy as bypass, then plug and play. Everything works. Wider range, improved speeds especially on my wifi 6 devices.
You can create upto 6 SSIDs (2 main network, 2 guest network and 2 IoT Network), although you can set up to 16 SSIDs in OpenWRT cheesy
Get the US version though.

With those low 5ghz channels you still face the starlink router problem of some devices not seeing the 5ghz signal right?
Coz I know the phones that don't see 5ghz channels using require channels above 100.

You for just buy the one I told you. I doubt using a WiFi 6 router makes a difference since starlink speed doesn't reach WiFi 5 speed limit sef

You don't need to call customer care. As long as its a new device (unactivated). there is an option
if you already have a device. It's mostly used for both new and transfer of old accounts to a new person (more complicated)
Besides there are many Youtube and text tutorials about how to do this.

Because of the crime in Nigeria, starlink has banned Nigerians and Brazilians from transferring accounts except the account has been used for 6 months, then the ability to be transferred will be open.

All the C80, AX10, AX20, AX23 I saw were EU models from UAE.
I'm currently on Openwrt custom firmware anyway. All higher 5Ghz channels unlocked.

Resellers won't tell anyone this. People who buy from them deserve whatever they get. I wonder what's difficult in ordering kit by themselves.

grin I have tried GTBank, Zenith, Access (Virtual), Access ($ Dom), Carbon, Kuda (virtual card) and now Chipper none of which worked. The only option that seems to have worked so far is the virtual dollar card from Grey Finance. I am not sure I want to open providus and ecobank accounts sadly.

Lol, not everyone wants to wait for delivery. There's even no need to transfer account. Email address can still easily be changed.
