Asonaijaaso: consciously or unconsciously, may you and your family consume product with same quality as Erisco's tomato paste. your food, drink, water and medicine will be same quality irregardless of where you purchase it. That is my prayer for you. so shall it be and may you feel whatever the effect is in your vitals and body in the quickest time. people who prioritize profit over health and safety and can open mouth waaaa citing Boeing as an example deserve the standard of products they defend. |

riches4me: the effect it has on Nigerias reputation as a country with no safety protocols, no health standards and zero freedom of speech has not even be discussed. Also this will attract every sub standard producer of drugs and food especially plus goods because they know that product review is dead and they can get away with poor products. Erisco did not only kill his brand, the Nagicko brand, he further dented Nigeria's already bad reputation |

IamAsiri:You cannot say something is too sugary when the sugar content isn't above the approved quantity as stated in the NUTRITIONAL FACTS SHEET. Her Ignorance naim put her for trouble so. She said she doesn't eat sugar in her house but honey. You bought a product that has sugar clearly written as one of the ingredients and you complained. Is ut that she is blind or can't read? She is ignorant if the product she bought and when she was corrected, her stupidity and dumbness took the better of her and she made more damning allegations she can't provide proof of because some morons were urging her on. She dey form influecer, influencer without brain. Like someone allergic to peanut but bought a product with peanut clearly written as one of its ingredients and claims the company wants to kill her due to their product containing peanut. She should have just looked away or buy the alternatives that doesn't contain the ingredients you are allergic to. |

Phabulous4:You are the one that needs to get facts right. The company reached out to her, she was educated on the different tomatoes products and their ingredients. She issued an apology but later went public to withdraw the apology saying she made it under duress and she dared the company to take legal actions against her because some twitter lawyers(s) promised to give her legal representation and she was ready to sue the company. As a baby influencer, she overrated herself. She wants clout, she got it, she should live with consequences her actions have brought her. |

bitingcool: Shame on you and your foolish display on nairaland. I keep telling you it's not wrong to love your tribe and it's foolish to love another tribe more than yours ..... If that makes me a tribalist to you that's your cup of tea. The people that gave the word tribalism practice what they tell you not to practice and you feeling woke is fighting me for telling you to wake up. No matter what an Englishman can't rule France A Frenchman cant rule England But they will tell you it's tribalism if I insist an igboman won't govern in Oyo state Will igbos allow a yorubaman govern Enugu? You cant gaslight me as I'm not a tribalist and what you quote is just used for banter and bring out FOOLS like you who don't understand the word they shout. Y'all obviously have no idea how hard and how much people on the internet would fight when it comes to injustice. Sit back and watch what people would do. You think people outside Nigeria won't have any effect of Erisco. Erisco should just be glad 4Chan is no longer in it prime. |

Tell me you know nothing about people destroying people...people got together to do marches and protests against Erisco..you think the same people did not forward the news to CNN and NY Post? You do not know anything about Media and Destruction. May you never face coordinated destruction...the matter is in court. Whether Erisco is right or wrong, we shall find out. Right now, we need to stop piling us or trying to influence the court on this matter. daniel999l: |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUAH3WcqOAw?si=b_nChqrkwApsTisu Nigerian Woman Faces 7 Years in Prison over Facebook Review A woman in Nigeria faces up to 7 years in prison over a negative review on Facebook. Chioma Okoli is a 39-year-old entrepreneur based in Lagos. Last September, she put up a post on Facebook where she slammed a local tomato puree. She said the tomato mix was too sweet. This set off a storm on Facebook, and led to the Nigerian police arresting her a week later. She has been charged under Nigeria's cybercrime law. She is being accused of hatching a conspiracy to instigate people against the Tomato Puree maker. She faces 7 years in jail, and a fine of up to 3 million dollars over the bad review |

Phabulous4:I don't know since when seeking redress legitimately using the court becomes a Draconian situation. The company did not harrass her with thugs or other illegal violence means. The matter hasn't been decided yet. If she is in the right, she should put up a defence for her case This is a case of corporate bullying. Some section of the sentimental masses trying to bully the corporation (Erisco foods) into submission and that must be rejected by all legitimate and legal means. If cancel the company, I personally will actively look for their products and patronise Erisco products because there hasn't been an investigation to show the company lied in their labelling or that the ingredient contents of their products doesn't tally with what was stated in their NUTRITIONAL FACTS. About the issue damaging the reputation of the company is neither here nor there. Opinions are divided. Some people will boycott the products while some that don't even know about the product have vowed to start patronising Erisco tomatoes. |
Re: Erisco Vs Chioma Okoli: CNN, Dailystar, Reddit, Others Feature Story by kkins25(m): 10:08am On Mar 30 |
Prettychild: Are you kidding? It was not a criminal case, hence, the police had no business arresting her in the first place. In fact, why the police got involved immediately does more than just paint the CEO of Erisco foods in bad light, but exposes us to the cruelties that he is capable of. To worsen the issue, the police illegally detained her for months---months. Why? If you do not know your own human right, then you shouldn't impose your ignorance on others. It could be that you're also into the food business, like maureen, who's also siding with Erisco incase it's her turn one day. So that she can bully the unhappy customer and then give testimony in church the next day. Again, I ask, where was the cyber crime committed? Haven't you, instigated people around you to choose one product over the order, in your whole life? Were you committing any crime, then? You haven't said, "oh, android better pass iPhone" or "iphone better pass andriod" or "andriod battery no dey last like iPhone" or "chinese products no good" ? Call yourself a hypocrite and tell me you haven't criticized a product before. okay, let Erisco food go and sue all the people that dropped 1star review online na.....mtcheeewww... Mind you, the lady first commented that the product is sugary. Nothing wrong here. perception of taste is subjective, and that point can be argued in court to her defense. Does Erisco add sugar to the product, yes or no? Mind you tomatoe paste is less tomatoe and more fibre---carbonhydrate, which is sugar. Do and do your home work, madam. |

kkins25:What are you even saying? Oh! You thought it is when someone kills someone or steals, that it is the only form of criminal cases? My dear felonies, misdemeanor are all criminal offenses. I don’t think you actually read through all her comments, keep sentiments aside and look at this thing objectively. She didn’t stop at saying it is sugary but went on to say it is killing people! Where is her proof? The problem is her not being charged to court cos the law mandates that she should be charged to court within 48 hours. Learn to leave emotions aside when looking at issues. I was like you supporting all her actions until I read through all her comments. I wish I could post them here but you have already taken sides already |

Prettychild: It's you who should learn to follow due protocols and keep that Nigerian vindictive behaviour aside. The whole world has come out to say Erisco has gone over and beyond, but you some of you Nigerians, who don't have identity in the presence of wealthy people continue to say otherwise. I hope you're not also selling products without Nafdac no. cus this type of people una like to dey defend. Please show me where the word "killing" was used. Plus, you must also prove to us the context in which said word was used. I have read her comments, and the K***ing part followed after Erisco sister made a comment, abi? |

IamAsiri: If you think you're wiser than the NAFDAC, SON and all food governing bodies in the world who passed sugar-laced tomato products as OKAY for the markets, then, I can't help but wonder how greatly intelligent you might have been in the midst of people with deficient knowledge. |
Re: Erisco Vs Chioma Okoli: CNN, Dailystar, Reddit, Others Feature Story by IamAsiri: 9:22am On Apr 05 |
jayworld15: You are indeed very smart if you believe that all Nigerian products certified okay can pass to be exported abroad to compete with their products over there. Can you even compare Nigeria's coca cola or pepsi products with the exact same abroad? Keep shouting NAFDAC, SON up and down. |

psucc: The guy believes he is smart ni jare. Olodo oshi. That guy thinks everything works in black and white. I remember serving in one of the regulatory bodies and going on field trip to a company for quarterly checks one day. The company obviously failed both in-situ tests and some other tests carried out by a third-party lab and it was an environmental hazard to its immediate environment which made my boss to recommend temporary sealing of the company. Guess what happened! Before we got home from the trip, the ogas at the top had started calling my boss to tread softly. He was angry and sad because it was obvious that it is not an easy task to effect changes if you don't have bosses that have hearts like Dora Akunyili. Do we have standard products in Nigeria? To an extent. Can our products compete with similar products in countries with really functional standard organisations? Hmmm 🤔. |
Re: Erisco Vs Chioma Okoli: CNN, Dailystar, Reddit, Others Feature Story by jayworld15(m): 2:47pm On Apr 05 |
IamAsiri: Now, I know you're the smartest human ever. Last time I checked, Chioma is a Nigerian same as Erisco company being Nigerian company, NAFDAC and SON are both Nigerian federal regulating bodies on products made in Nigeria (and passed for consumption for Nigerians). Nafdac cannot pass for American consumption what's produced for Americans, by Americans (or outside them) for the purpose of good American living. Inasmuch Erisco product was passed by Nafdac and SON, and you're now viewing as otherwise, you became, instantaneously, the smartest human to ever live. |
Re: Erisco Vs Chioma Okoli: CNN, Dailystar, Reddit, Others Feature Story by jayworld15(m): 2:55pm On Apr 05 |
IamAsiri: You're the smartest as I said. What's the purpose of the ingredients written on products if you know? I mean you just stated an allegation here, tell us the product. Or do you think ingredients and their quality and quantity listings are for fancy artwork? You're very smart. You're as smart as the Chioma who couldn't complain to the company, made serious unfounded allegations and cried wolf when the law came for her. If you think the sugar is much more than the quantity by law according to what's written on the product, wasn't it a good time to make more, since the law which seems how Erisco lied to the law and that'd be perjury and contempt of law? Once again, you're smart |
