Abagworo was a very strong APC supporter who worked for Rochas Okorocha while he was in office. We supported and defended APC together on this platform. However, ethnic bigotry and hatred for the Yoruba people got the better of him when Tinubu picked the APC ticket ahead of Okorocha and Amaechi. Since then, he abandoned whatever principle that made him support APC and joined the Obidient cult. His turn around was amazing.

Wherever the case his, it goes to show the lack of principle and ideology in political decisions among a lot of Nigerians. Apart from foolish “Yoruba buts” who lacks basic knowledge about Nigeria’s politics and history, most people’s political choices are shaped by ethno religious sentiments and nothing else.

Back in 1987, a certain Muslim millonaire made a lot of comments against christianity. IN 1993, CAN backed him for the presidency. That was MKO Abiola. And the reason CAN backed him was because in their mind he was the lesser of two evils.

That's how politics works. A lot of people who vote for politicans, the politicans they vote for are people that they may have criticsed in the past, and that if things were more diverse, they would not have voted for them...but it's down to two choices, and thus here they are.

Trump back in the 1980's was probably regarded by many American christians as an emblem of the corrupt 'Greed is good' mentality that was prevalent among the rich back then....yet in 2016, and 2023, they voted for him...because at the end of the day, people don't get their perfect candidate. They get the candidate who ticks two out of their ten priorites. It'\s bad, but the other guy ticks zero of their priorities.

Peter Obi is someone that many people won't vote for normally, but when you are faced with chaps like Atiku and Tinubu who have murkier pasts than Obi (Obi is no saint by the way, and he was not the best governor at all)... you vote for the lesser evil.

Me I can't understand it, and I have never voted for Obi, Atiku or Tinubu....I have the qualites I want in a candidate, and none of them measure up. But at the end, those who are not as choosy as I am get some momentum. I don't.
