The question is not if the man deems her worthy of 250k hair but if the man can afford it and if she can also afford to wear such hair given her economic realities.

A boyfriend who can afford to give his lady a 250k hair must of necessity be able to give her a 700k phone in the mold of iPhone14, shoes worth at least 75k and such other expensive gifts and most certainly a car. Or what is the wisdom in wearing a 250k wig and end up matching your sweat with others in public buses. If the boyfriend cannot afford to give her all these but is instead giving her 250k hair, then he is of all men most foolish.

Again, a man who can AFFORD (with AFFORD being the operative word here), to give his woman 250k for hair will most probably not look upon her with grace if the next business idea she can come up with is frying yams. She will most certainly lose the guy cause he will see her as mentally poor and lacking in creativity.

More importantly, I struggle to see how a lady who knows her boyfriend can actually afford to give her 250k for hair will think the next thing is to be frying yams for sale. Women are too vain to stoop that low from such heights. All she needs to do is pressure him to open a boutique for her and that's it.

Look at the hair on her head in that pic. Does that look like hair worth 20k? If he couldn't give her hair worth over 20k but gave her 250k out of the blues, then something is wrong with him. If he can afford to give her 700k phone, and she adds that sum to 250k, I'm sure 1m cannot be used to do yam frying business. Something better will be in the offing. The fact that she used this particular money to start frying yams shows it's a one off thing thus, it is safe to say he cannot afford the lifestyle expected of someone who uses 250k to do hair.

It is utter foolishness to enter a public bus with 250k hair especially in Nigeria's broken transport system. Secondly, it is bigger foolishness to turn yourself to uber customer. Imagine taking uber for 365 days a year to everywhere you're going. If you sit down to calculate how much you have spent, you will realise it will get you a good Nigerian used car to serve you. Again, it shows a lack of financial insight on your part again.

If you observed keenly, from the onset of this convo, I didn't support buying yams when he gave her money to buy hair. I said it was misappropriation of funds.

I have looked at the hair on her head and I'm here to tell you that hair extensions are not cheap. A pack of attachment is 6,500. If you multiply that by two, that is 13k already and as you can see, the hair length is long and way past her bra length. We've not even added money for washing the hair and then paying for workmanship. So the hair on her head is 20k worthy. People spend as much as 30k and even 70k on braids.

I don't understand your problem with the man giving her 250k for hair. If you can't do it for your woman, that is totally fine, nobody will beat you for that.

And yes, it is also possible she's not used to luxury things. And probably this time, he wanted her to enjoy his funds. Again, someone who can only think of frying yams is on the lowest rung of the economic ladder. Such persons have no business wearing a N250k hair. The boyfriend who gave her the money is more foolish because from the lady's response, it is obvious he has not taken care of things she feels are more important to her before going to N250k hair. If he had already satisfied more cogent needs for her, there's no reason she would have gone to buy yams and oil with the money he gave her for hair.

The lady is wiser than him obviously. If she does not have a job or means of sustenance, and he has not provided her one but is giving her 250k for hair, it shows how shallow and frivolous he is. The lady is more sensible than the guy obviously.

That said, someone who prefers uber to driving and can afford it is within his rights to do so. But he should also be aware of the limitations such as moving at night and cross country movements. So with that, you'll see that having a personal means of movement is more desirable than using uber and its not just the economics alone but the convenience.

And again, wearing a 250k hair to jump buses is utter foolishness. There are some things that make sense and some don't.

It does not work that way. Not every supposedly generous guy is generous in the whole sense of it. Some men are very ready to sponsor your vanities but will never fund a dime to set you on the foot of financial liberation. I mean, these sort of men will rather buy you hairs worth millions than fund your potentials that can make you soar. As a girl who wants something different for yourself, what must you do if you meet such man? Must you not ask and misappropriate the funds for your own good?

Sometimes, misappropriation of funds in this context is not a bad choice. Unless there is a pattern, then it should be looked into. Until then, all I can see is a woman is very entrepreuneurial and ready to financially liberate herself.
