Scrap this thing, it has long lost its relevance. Only the children of the "ordinary people" toil in this service. Children of politicians, influential, powerful and connected people stay at home and get their certificates. At best, make it optional.

During my time the number of corpers dead as a result of unauthorized travel were so alarming that ZI had to do physical head count of every local govt those not on ground were given extension after their service year.

What made matter worse was that a certain corper died and the next of kin contacted, only for next of kin demanding for death benefit of the passing corper. This insistence prompted an investigation which led to the discovery of the next of kin being a friend but not family member.

True. Where I served in Benin, a fellow corper was shot dead by robbers. Right in the corpers lodge at that.
So it's not by travel, whether authorized or not. What about corpers that died while travelling to NYSC camp, their PPA or returning home after service?

Matters of unauthorized travelling should only come up if he was travelling on a road that the NYSC has deemed unsafe, travelling to a place the NYSC has deemed unsafe...or the corps member has been declared missing.

You cannot tell people not to travel outside during their free time, for the fact they're serving doesn't mean they can't travel on holidays, weekends etc

What has NYSC done about the numerous kidnapping of corp members across the country?

People get into accidents while transiting MYSC camp, and to & fro their PPA, some loss their lives when such occurs, what role do NYSC play when these happen? Does the Scheme compensate the families? Does NYSC have a life insurance policy for corp members?


I for one thinks NYSC is a useless scheme and should be scrapped, I'm a covid corper, we were chased from the camp and continued receiving allawee during the lockdown, I did so any of the rubbish SAED or CDS nonsense... I truly appreciate the fact that I didn't waste much time on NYSC Palava.

Why is the government coming up with the likes of NJFP, 3MTT, Npower, and others? Why can't these programs be integrated into NYSC and serve as onboarding for those companies to recruit from.

Overloading people into buses or cars, no use of seat belts, and poor rescue attempts.





It is not easy to come out alive when you are packed into a bus with no seatbelts and the bus rolls over multiple times.





And rescue attempts are usually done by people who know nothing about first responder education. Sometimes, people are left for dead because they look dead.
