One time, I had to call the lady that I have sent money but I am yet to receive the funds in my exchange.

For rates, LITEcoin transactions are almost next to free besides, I buy the litecoin when the price drops and when it's time to sell on the destination exchange, I sell when the price appreciates to negate any cost during the transaction process.

I understand the feeling, I have been there.
Trick to it is I look for the sellers "Online"rather than been fixated on best price. For instance a 20k difference in total cost for a transaction of over N1m shouldn't be the main reason to pick the cheapest rate seller.
I also prioritize Seller offering same bank I am sending from.
