My passport would expire in 2 months time and I am trying to renew it online, after battling with passport upload for some hours and finally done with that, below are the next huddle in front of me:

1. Birth Certificate issued by the National Population Commission or Declaration of age by Federal/State High Court or Customary Court of Appeal *

2. Local Government Certificate of Indigeneship *

Is passport renewal supposed to go through all these?


NB: I have renewed the passport twice and this is the 3rd time of renewal

This shouldn't pose a problem.

It's either you used original documents or you allowed agents to manufacture supporting documents at the first attempt.

You should be able to provide the above documents, come rain or shine.

Thanks for the response, I just felt renewal shouldn't require any of such documents since all information has been in their systems for a long time and also this is my first time renewing via DIY, the last 2 renewals has been through an agent.

is it a must to go with the filled Guarantor's form??

Eventually i was able to DIY using the online app.

However Is it possible that i reschedule for date of capturing physically?

While i tried the online option . It keeps saying RESCHEDULE DISABLED FOR THIS CENTRE?

I have been using a certificate of registration of birth I got at the LGA for all filing/correspondence.

Can it still work as my birth certificate?

My NIN is still showing pending..

Biometrics is not possible without NIN I think

Can I go ahead with my biometrics?

Once you see NOT FOUND, it means your passport is ready.

Thank you. I forgot to mention that I captured at Alausa Office 😞. I just hope you did too cos I’m tired of the wait as it is delaying a lot of things for me.

Please my passport status is showing this after it showed all green except the "passport issued stage" initially after capturing

It's a glitch from NIS.
Mine too is showing same.
I already experience that before sometimes last month.
They gonna fix it.

I captured March 14, and I was just given an enhanced enrolment number. When do you think I should go check if my passport is ready?

I was at their Kaduna office today 17 April to capture.

I registered online too, paid 35k for 5 years.
When I got the office, the officials said I will need to pay 15k as administrative fees. I told them I didn't see that on their website. The man informed me that it is not all information they put on their website. I insisted I wont pay because I didn't prepare for that.

They also asked for my expired passport, which I left at home because I made copy of my biodata page. so I will be there again tomorrow.

Before I left the office, they reduced the money to 7k and asked me they wont capture me until I bring the expired passport and the 7k. They said the money is for fueling and servicing of their generator

This is my dilemma today. So pathetic.
