He’s right sha, as terrible as Chelsea is right now dem go damage that Leverkusen team, and Over4.5 is sure, if they were playing in Europa, final is certain for them.

It's because run in games like this you need elite strikers but arsenal thinks a strike force of Jesus, nketiah and havertz is enough to win the epl. If you suggest osimhen kome will tell you that they don't need strikers as if pep does not have two very strong strikers at hand.

Did you noticed that all the Serie A matches yesterday ended in Deadlock?

Napoli 2-2 Frosinone
sassuolo 3-3 AC Milan
Udinese 1-1 AS Roma (Game abandoned after a player collapsed)
Inter 2-2 Cagliari

We suppose respect them o. Bayern, Dortmund and Leipzig are top sides who Leverkusen have beaten without much hassle.

I'm excited to see how they fare in next season's UCL.

Don't be too excited. You and I know some of these Leverkusen lads who conquered Germany will move this summer.

Unless ofcos they replace quality with quality and those players fit in tandem with Xabi's playing philosophy soon enough.

There’s no need to dribble because you run. Players are more developed in every sense. You lose that player who’s different, who ‘breathes’; the playmaker who was slower even if he had sublime technique doesn’t get the opportunity to turn.

Simple, it is more difficult today than it was before for creative players to shine due to the advancement of the game and development of players.

It is more difficult now only because you are told there's no need to dribble BECAUSE you run ...i.e You are expected to run instead of dribble. You are expected to run instead of slowing down things (aka opportunity to turn)

Don't twist things. In this same "intense and speedy" football is where Neymars and Hazards made a name with their flair.

Dead that talk there is no space. There is only a dearth of players with flair and coaches who utilise them.

I disagree. Players are not sticks. If they can dribble, they will do it however, it is more difficult now. If you looked at the article, the next question was about intensity and speed.

It’s taken up a different pace, rhythm: more accelerated, more physical. The figure of the No 10 has almost disappeared. We see less magic, less fantasy. Footballers do more but faster. There’s no need to dribble because you run. Players are more developed in every sense. You lose that player who’s different, who ‘breathes’; the playmaker who was slower even if he had sublime technique doesn’t get the opportunity to turn. Those of us who are not so fast with our legs have to be faster in our heads. It’s like anything in life: adaptation. Things keep moving. Football changes constantly, expressed differently.

Look at the bolded, that is clearly the context of the discussion. Not coaching instructions.

He is a young coach so his not-so-rich CV is understandable. What should matter most about him is his philosophy, pedigree and work ethics.

Not sure that is a fair assessment. He's been a coach since 2016 and a coach of his current club since 2018. 8 years provides enough time and enough data to make judgement on how good he his.

The context of the talk was how focus on pace, intensity and physicality has made magic and fantasy a less-prominent/alien characteristic.

"footballers do more but faster"
Do more what? Is it not that players are now focused on running...in/out of zones/channels. That is obviously why it follows with "There's no need to dribble because you run"

Lastly, the overall direction of the discourse by Thiago, which is a vent at modern football(MF), is a analysis of the impact of the dogmas of MF upon the soul of the game. This makes it very improbable that he is praising any of those dogmas.

To paraphrase:
"In today's game everyone is so concerned about running about so much so that no one spares to express themselves in their football"

Obviously not the whole 10 outfield players will/can be magical but it is draconian that MF is snuffing out the artist and no, it's not because it is harder. You know the examples of artists in current times. It is simply because coaches don't value it.

Argue it as a paradigm shift and not that whatever we have now is superior.
