LOVEALAIGBO:
Showcasing the neat network of inner-villa roads of Adazi-Ani in Anaocha LGA, built by private initiative! The content creator wrongly ascribed the job to the state gov't, but reading through the comments i gather they were done by privately.

I notice some property owners are defacing the pristine nature of the new roads by tipping their sand and stones, and mixing cement on the newly constructed roads! The town union or LG authourity should give the idiots brush and a bucket of soapy water and make them get down on their knees to scrub out any traces of their selfish idiocy and return the road back to how they met it! Very annoying, walahi! People tend not to care for public property as they would their own!

I just told you Soludo has not got past the pillars stage for that flyover after 18 months. This is the man that you hoping to give you Dubai? Good luck with that , but let he at least try to give us Enugu which I know is even beyond him.
NwekereNdokl:
Ekwuluobia is more developed than Umuahia, at least Ekwuluobia now has a flyover but the glorified village Umuahia has none. Awka and Onitsha are the best cities in igboland and Soludo is the best governor in SE . Anambra is the most developed state in igboland

Why not bring your useless fada to come perform let’s see. There’s nothing in Enugu , they don’t even have ordinary portable drinking water. Ekwuluobia is becoming the fourth Anambra city while other states in igboland are still battling with one township. Soludo is the best governor in igboland and Anambra is the most developed state in igboland.

Owerri is still a slum and a glorified village while millions of imo indigenes are running to Onitsha and Awka to live . Go and develop your state lol

The most important thing is that Owerri is a glorified village and that’s why most imo indigenes are running to Awka and Onitsha to live . This is a shameful thing to imo state for not being able to develop the state

Are you guys not ashamed of yourselves? Every single day of the week is always the same approach to life for you guys. From sun up to moon down, you guys are always bickering like witches and wizards quarrelling in their coven. Some of you don't even sleep again because you want to condemn developments happening in a state that is not yours. Why can't you people create another thread where you can all meet yourselves and constitute your nuisances? Dem swear for una?

The real Ndi Anambra are no longer saying anything because, since some of you have turned yourselves into unofficial SA Media/Spokespersons to both Ndi Anambra and the ANSG, they have all decided to become spectators. One can understand the love for the homeland but it is not everything you must react to. Learn to overlook some comments at times. Envious people must always show themselves. Also, for those of you not from Anambra, why must every news about Anambra attract you guys like moths to a flame? Why is it that whenever you hear of any positive development emanating from Anambra, it is like your erectile dysfunction starts to respond positively to treatment? Don't you guys have anything lucrative to do with your lives? You hear about an ongoing road construction going on within Anambra, Abia people will come up with the one Otti is doing in Aba. Enugu person will push the lamba of how Enugu became Dubai even before Dubai. An Ebonyi person will fly his own kite that Anambra is trying to copy their technology. Someone from Imo will jump into the ring that they did it first. The same with an Anambra person on hearing that any state is doing something productive, the unofficial spokespersons will claim that they want to be like us. Wetin dey worry una sef? Must everything be competition for you guys?

We have not gotten Biafra o, yet you hate yourselves this much. Tell me what is going to happen if, eventually, we succeed in getting this Biafra. Some of us, because of the envy and hate for the successes of our fellow Igbo brothers and sisters, will sell our brethrens to the same Nigeria we separated from. Make una dey try get sense na!

The highlighted is the inert envy and bitterness of these people . They keep monitoring this thread like demons whereas Anambra people don’t care about their states and what they do there. They make all sorts of statements in their own threads but we don’t care but when we reinforce the fact that Anambra is the most developed Igbo state , they all jump out trying to kill themselves for nothing.

The girls (In no particular order), Immaculate Ikegwuonu, Camilla Anyadike, and Nweke-Nonso Oluchi.

Girls of St. John Vianney Science College, Igbariam, Anambra State, have used their virtual reality project to win the National Girls in ICT Competition 2024, claiming the national championship title on Wednesday.

The National Girls in ICT Competition, organised by the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, is a technology innovation competition for all girls in secondary schools across Nigeria.

The college’s innovative project, M-Tag VR, allows users to explore iconic landmarks like Zuma Rock and learn about the fascinating cultural aspects of Nigerian tribes.

The girls, Immaculate Ikegwuonu, Camilla Anyadike, and Nweke-Nonso Oluchi, mentored by their coach, John Onuigbo, triumphed over teams from all 36 states of the federation.

The girls started the competition at the state level, where they won the Anambra State competition, then proceeded to conquer the South-Eastern regional championship, defeating teams from Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, and Enugu states, to make it to the national finals.

The organisers said their exceptional project and skills impressed judges throughout, culminating in a thrilling national victory against strong contenders from the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Rivers and Lagos states secured the second and third-place positions, respectively.

Speaking on Thursday, one of the girls, Immaculate Ikegwuonu, expressed excitement, saying, “We are so grateful for this opportunity! Thanks to our school which motivates us to pursue careers in ICT. Through this win, we hope to inspire other girls to do the same.”

Reacting to the win, The Director of St. John Vianney Science College, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, with joy, said, “This national championship is a monumental achievement for our school and a source of immense pride. It exemplifies our commitment to empowering young women in STEM fields.

“As a science college, we understand the impact of technology and empower students to use it as a force for good. Hence, this win isn’t coming as a surprise. It’s the result of years of hard work.

“This victory is a testament to the dedication and talent of these young girls. We are glad to have been part of their journey. They have not only showcased their technical skills but also their ability to innovate and problem-solve.”

The Operations Lead of Kodex Africa, Idika Ukpai, said the National Girls in ICT Competition is facilitated through implementing hubs in each state, which provide logistical support and ensure a smooth competition process. Kodex Africa supported this team from Anambra State.

I have been looking for who to ponder this issue with me.

I’m so uncomfortable with Peter Obi’s policy of focusing on only the northern poor people to provide them with water. In my own hometown of Aboh, we don’t have boreholes and would gladly love to get water courtesy of Peter Obi’s benevolence.

The idea that if one could only be a “nationalist” if one prioritized and solved only the problems of the northern poor. Both northern or southern Presidents except perhaps Tinubu prioritized northern Nigeria to their profound miscalculation and folly. Goodluck Johnathan tried the same strategy and also failed woefully like Zik before him. Peter Obi must understand that Nnamdi Azikiwe was born in Zungeru in northern Nigeria. He spoke Hausa better than he spoke Igbo. He prioritized the welfare of northern Nigerians and willingly gave the Prime Ministerial position to the north and took a ceremonial President role. After all that, it didn’t make any northerner not to see Zik as Igbo and still supported even the least competent northerner instead of Zik.

Someone should point out to Peter Obi that many communities in Ekwusigo,Ogboji, Achina, Umunze, Ogbunka also have severe challenges with portable water and would be happy to benefit from his boreholes benevolence. Not to mention some communities in Opi, Ede-Oballa, Ehamufu, Ezzamgbo, Okpanku, in northern Igboland where portable water has been a challenge for more than 60 years. These people are frustrated that they are neither remembered by the FG nor our own Peter Obi. Instead it is the same northerners favoured in every Federal government project in the Nigeria that again are the benefactors of every good thing offered by even non-northerners like Peter Obi! Please we should stop taking the southern communities for granted!

Meanwhile it is clear that Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential elections. Till date, the tallied votes on Rivers State IREV portal shows Peter Obi won in Rivers State. Yet his mandate was stolen by INEC and given to those who the Godfathers of Nigeria wanted. What guarantee is there that in 2027, even if Peter Obi wins by a bigger landslide than in 2023, INEC would not do the same thing and the Supreme Court of Injustice would cement the heist.

What I expected was a concerted effort to ensure that INEC only conducted elections but cannot declare winners because that role is outside their legal role as an election umpire.

Water is not the problem in the east than what is obtained up north.

Interesting observation there but PO doing this is not just for his political ambition because he himself has made it a challenge for other wealthy Nigerians to build at least one borehole in a community, how many people have taken up that challenge?

The communities you mentioned in Igboland, I believe each of those communities have at least about 3 very wealthy individuals, how many of them have drilled a borehole for those communities. I applaud the benevolent ones amongst them though...

And for you to know, this is also a political strategy which is now changing the views of some northerners about the Igbo political elites. Before Tinubu finally declared to contest the last elections we all know what he did just to curry favours from the north, donating money to every gathering, embarking on some 'philanthropic' gestures, even his yearly colloquium that was always organized in Lagos was moved to the north just to make them see him as someone who is in tune with them, this is the same Tinubu that once blasted northerners and even declared he doesn't believe in one Nigeria. We can't just wish it away, the north wield some electoral values in today's Nigeria.

I just hope INEC will be reformed before the next general election just like you said, if not it will be another effort in futility.

Thank you to Anambra First Son TV for shedding light on these long-standing issues within our community. Personally, I've grown weary of pleading with our people to change their ways. Let them persist in their folly, but they must also accept the consequences that may arise from their greed and shortsightedness in the future.

Recently, I've been troubled by individuals who are overly distraught about the proposed demolition of the Landmark mall in Lagos? My question to them is simple: how can one expect to be an Igbo person and own the largest mall in another community without considering the feelings and perspectives of the ancestral owners of that land? Are we really that daft to see everything strictly from the lens of profit and loss considerations?

Those who make such miscalculations must be prepared to bear the losses themselves when things inevitably go awry. Those who live in a rainforest but fail to have a fall-back plan in case it rains should be prepared to become drenched when it inevitably rains. It is a proverb and advice for those who fail to reason while living in a tribalist and divided country such as Nigeria.

However, it's important to remind these individuals that they have a home state that they've neglected in pursuit of their ambitions to dominate others in foreign territories. They only seem to remember their roots when the consequences of their actions catch up to them. That's all I have to say on the matter.

My brother, you've bravely tackled a difficult truth that many avoid. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and President Goodluck Jonathan tried what Peter Obi is doing now, and they both failed. Peter Obi will likely face the same fate in trying to win over the North. Nigeria isn't unified, and history shows that non-Muslims struggle to gain support from the north. People may recognize your abilities, but they won't openly endorse you.

You're also correct that Peter Obi shouldn't neglect his support base in southern Nigeria and middle-belt. Many communities in Igboland, like in Ekwusigo LGA, Ogboji, and Umunze, have lacked clean water for a long time. I don't even want to mention communities in Ebonyi state that have suffered several scourges of Guinea worm epidemics due to a lack of potable water. It's indeed very frustrating that they're forgotten by both the federal government and Peter Obi, while northerners receive preferential treatment in government and non-governmental projects. As if it is only northerners that have communities lacking potable water. Of course, they will keep mute here to allow only northern communities to benefit and exclude southern communities as usual.

Regarding INEC's theft of Peter Obi's mandate, history may repeat itself in 2027 without electoral reforms. No one is addressing Peter Obi's victory on Rivers State IREV portal. Peter Obi's reluctance to call for mass action against election rigging shows he may lack the assertiveness needed for real change. While he's popular, his gentlemanly approach may not be enough to demand electoral reform through street protests. If Peter Obi continues on this path, we risk seeing a repeat of the same issues in 2027.

An Igbo proverb wisely states, "Those who fetch ants-infested firewood should expect a feast of lizards." These Igbo people investing their life's work in troubled parts of Nigeria with heavy anti-Igbo sentiments believe they are wiser than everyone else pointing these things out.

It's important to urge our fellow brothers and sisters to remember their roots, but they must also understand that actions have consequences. Personally, I've grown tired of pleading with our people to change their mindset. They seem solely focused on maximizing profits without considering the risks, diversifying their ventures, or contributing to their home state's development. Let them continue on this path, but they must be prepared to face the consequences of their actions. Like the owner of the Landmark Beach Resort now facing repercussions of ignoring warnings of caution and pursuing unchecked greed which ultimately leads to inevitable losses. Today, he has suddenly remembered that he is Igbo with NOTHING to show anywhere in Igboland for his stupendous wealth.

Yet, it's still crucial to continue reminding them to seize opportunities available in Igboland to invest and diversify wisely. Life isn't just about profit and loss. Chinese businessmen once chose to invest in China over Japan, understanding the importance of developing their homeland. Similarly, Igbo individuals fixated solely on profit margins should recognize the pitfalls of blind greed.

How many times will we revisit this issue? Cjrane2 I ask you again, how many times are we going to revisit this issue? Are you not tired of repeating the same issue every year? I no longer concern myself with issues like this after I discovered 2 main problems about the Igbo people:

1. Ndigbo hate reality but love fantasies.
2. Ndigbo never learn from their mistakes.

From your write-up, you mentioned how even Azikiwe made the same mistakes in the 60s, fast forward to 2024 (over 60 years after) and we still have Igbo people (like Peter Obi) making same mistakes over and over again. What does that tell you?

My advice to you is to double your hustle. You can be the next popular philanthropist in Igboland and build these water projects with your money. Stop worrying about Peter Obi, he is a billionaire in naira, allow him waste as many millions as possible trying to please people that can't be pleased. cheesy Even I myself writing, I was part of the group that purchased school bags and other educational materials for students in my village. It was a contribution between some well to do members of our community and our brothers and sisters in diaspora. My contribution was not the biggest by any means but I played my part in helping children in my community.

All I know is that Peter Obi will learn the hard way. I laugh anytime I see his borehole projects and say to myself "see how this guy dey throway money on a lost cause grin". It's all good though. It's up to us to do some of the developmental projects ourselves and stop hoping that our daft politicians will learn from the past.

@CJrane2 please read the part of this comment that I made bold. This is a typical example of the Igbo people that love fantasies more than reality. grin
Jonathan built new schools, new campuses in the North, did those projects change their perception about him? Arthur Eze has spent more on philanthropic activities in the North than Peter Obi, or do you want to talk about the school that was renovated with a new library by Emeka Offor in the same northern region? How did those activities positively affect the perception of the Northerners towards the Igbo people? Like I said before, allow these guys waste as much money as possible trying to please the unpleasables, they will all learn the hard way. How many times have a northerner donated anything towards the development of any eastern state? Na only us dey mumu ourselves.

Thank you to Anambra First Son TV for shedding light on these long-standing issues within our community. Personally, I've grown weary of pleading with our people to change their ways.Let them persist in their folly, but they must also accept the consequences that may arise from their greed and shortsightedness in the future.

@bolded grin You never start. You will plead for 600 years grin. But on a more serious note, I no longer see anything wrong in Igbo people building factories outside the East. Everyone builds his or her business in an environment where he or she hopes to make maximum profit as fast as possible and Lagos and Abuja are the top locations to host your business for fast growth as far as Nigeria is concerned.

We should be more focused on the businesses setup by residents of the South East. That is why I love the way Soludo is carrying out his youth empowerment program. We need to grow our own local industralists. We saw a video of an Igbo woman who makes motorcycle spare parts in Nnewi, that woman is an example of a local industralist though still small. There is another video of a man in the same Anambra state who manufactures materials for hairdressers using glass fibre. His products were of very good quality and looked like products imported from China. The only difference between these local producers in Anambra and their counterpart in Lagos and Ogun is that they lack the kind of capital required to scale up to the size of the industries in Lagos and Ogun. We need to educate our small scale business owners like these ones I mentioned to legally register their businesses and apply for loans from the Bank of Industry. The Bank of Industry is open to everyone in Nigeria that has a registered business. They will help you scale up gradually and provide the machines and tools you need to grow your business.

Another issue I discovered about Igbo businesses is that they don't advertise. I remember watching a program on Afia TV and the guest complained about how Igbo people, especially those in the east are always slow to adopt new technology to grow their businesses and they don't advertise enough. I have heard adverts from Gino, Tasty Tom, Mr. Chef etc on radio here in Lagos but I have never heard Tiger foods advert on radio (or TV) in Lagos despite their products being in Lagos. The first time I saw Tiger foods was on Nairaland posted by Anambra 1st Son and not even by the company itself.

So my main point is, it's high time we grow internally and locally in the east and forget about these guys who build whatever in Lagos. You can't tell anyone where he should spend or invest his or her money. We can start small and with strong patronage from our residents, our small businesses will gradually become big businesses.

Nice analysis. They will surely learn the hard way. As far as North is concerned, religion play a key role. Let him waste his money.
