@CJrane2 please read the part of this comment that I made bold. This is a typical example of the Igbo people that love fantasies more than reality. grin
Jonathan built new schools, new campuses in the North, did those projects change their perception about him? Arthur Eze has spent more on philanthropic activities in the North than Peter Obi, or do you want to talk about the school that was renovated with a new library by Emeka Offor in the same northern region? How did those activities positively affect the perception of the Northerners towards the Igbo people? Like I said before, allow these guys waste as much money as possible trying to please the unpleasables, they will all learn the hard way. How many times have a northerner donated anything towards the development of any eastern state? Na only us dey mumu ourselves.

I really do not want to join this self serving discussion, because it would not take a thing or two for anyone who's intelligent to note the difference.

PO declared to run for president, and immediately, all sorts of political pundits went to work, predicting how Obi won't even win his ward. Even the so-called "Professor governor" who claims to be more intelligent than everyone else, wrote a 15 paragraph diatribe on how Obi will only win 2 states. The rest is now history.

Anyone who has paid attention to POs political trajectory from the time he decided to run for governor in Anambra state under APGA with not a single political representation, to his numerous unmatched achievements while in office as gov, and now his near sublime first-in-history political campaign outing that berthed the biggest mass movement in Africa AKA Obidients, will know that Obi is different!

To think that Obi will fail in the north because spinless failures like GEJ, Arthur Eze, or Rochas Okorocha tried the corporate buy-in of the north for their political agenda, by doing a lot of humanitarian activities up north and failed is simply fool hardy. Was it not the same Arthur Eze who predicted that Obi will only win one state in the 2023 election? Was it not Kwankwaso who even said in Chatham house that no one in the north will vote Obi; if those guys were wrong then, why do we think that they'd be right now?

Obi is doing what he is doing in the north because that's WHO HE IS! He has donated far more to the south and especially to SE where he comes from than he will EVER donate to the north. Infact, Obi is currently building a #150million health facility in Enugu, and has given over #500 million to charitable causes in the last one year in the south east.

To see our people getting worked up simply because Obi went to the north to dig a few boreholes is very unfortunate!

Yes, the reason no northern politician do the same type of political advocacy in the south is cos that strategy simply doesn't work in the south! The south is far ahead of the core north in every HDI, so we are not a people you can buy over with handouts. And this accounts for the reason Ndigbo denied Buhari their votes 4times despite that he had an Igbo running mate twice, and despite that in 2015 the Igbos resisted even the full weight of the US media against GEJ, and went all out to vote for Goodluck, cos we in the South, especially SE/SS are mostly cut out for a candidate's competency.

In this game of politics we should be more introspective rather than being unnecessarily reactionary to issues that we almost have not thought about very well.

it can be whatever it is it’s actually a good news but perspective is actually what on ground

The two substantive developmental infrastructure is not fully utilized.
Seaport and Airport? Or what do you define development as
liars need to travel outside their enclave to make sense. Having a sea port is not all: Johannesburg, great Dallas, houston, New York, Los Angeles , great chicago. Stop any shi**it about seaport as a world criteria for your damn measurement . Moreover, quite a good number of cities in the world has intl airport. Lastly, all the west African capital cities lies on the coast with seaport but they are still wretched as you state of wherever you are planted. None of them can compete with Johannesburg. Industries, biz, banking, research, literacy, manufacturing etc are the stuff that makes a great city. Dubai can still be great with their infrastructure even with a sea port. I think you are little captivated by the two sea/air port.

I have been looking for who to ponder this issue with me.

I’m so uncomfortable with Peter Obi’s policy of focusing on only the northern poor people to provide them with water. In my own hometown of Aboh, we don’t have boreholes and would gladly love to get water courtesy of Peter Obi’s benevolence.

The idea that if one could only be a “nationalist” if one prioritized and solved only the problems of the northern poor. Both northern or southern Presidents except perhaps Tinubu prioritized northern Nigeria to their profound miscalculation and folly. Goodluck Johnathan tried the same strategy and also failed woefully like Zik before him. Peter Obi must understand that Nnamdi Azikiwe was born in Zungeru in northern Nigeria. He spoke Hausa better than he spoke Igbo. He prioritized the welfare of northern Nigerians and willingly gave the Prime Ministerial position to the north and took a ceremonial President role. After all that, it didn’t make any northerner not to see Zik as Igbo and still supported even the least competent northerner instead of Zik.

Someone should point out to Peter Obi that many communities in Ekwusigo,Ogboji, Achina, Umunze, Ogbunka also have severe challenges with portable water and would be happy to benefit from his boreholes benevolence. Not to mention some communities in Opi, Ede-Oballa, Ehamufu, Ezzamgbo, Okpanku, in northern Igboland where portable water has been a challenge for more than 60 years. These people are frustrated that they are neither remembered by the FG nor our own Peter Obi. Instead it is the same northerners favoured in every Federal government project in the Nigeria that again are the benefactors of every good thing offered by even non-northerners like Peter Obi! Please we should stop taking the southern communities for granted!

Meanwhile it is clear that Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential elections. Till date, the tallied votes on Rivers State IREV portal shows Peter Obi won in Rivers State. Yet his mandate was stolen by INEC and given to those who the Godfathers of Nigeria wanted. What guarantee is there that in 2027, even if Peter Obi wins by a bigger landslide than in 2023, INEC would not do the same thing and the Supreme Court of Injustice would cement the heist.

What I expected was a concerted effort to ensure that INEC only conducted elections but cannot declare winners because that role is outside their legal role as an election umpire.
This is a great disgrace to your town especially the youth for not having a common borehole. What are you doing as individual? Can’t you even mobilize your youth or well to do both local and abroad indigene. I don’t care what Obi is doing in the north though I know he has done quite a lot in Anambra health sector/ schools, your Aboh youth need to stand up for their community. Moreover, how many bore holes did Obi actually did for the northerners that you guys are making noise? Can you provide me how many ? Igbo communities should wake up .

The airport's aero bridge is still lying comfortably on the tarmac 2 years later!! Nigerians never cease to amaze me! Even the airport is looking one kind sef! Anyway......let us hope soludo actually has a standing policy on aviation in Anambra state................considering that Anambra state is home to the promoters of Air Peace and United Nigeria, it is baffling how silent the sector has become...................Aviation can become the face of Anambra tourism, commercial and industrial sectors !

Talking of Paul Onwuanibe the owner of landmark center, we can invite the dude to look at the river beaches and Onitsha water fronts with a view to developing resorts in those areas..................Soludo cannot go it alone nah, sometimes you need to chase these business men around to get some of these signature investments!

Which biased statistics are you really talking about?
You're tirelessly saying something without evidence or making a tangible reason.
We already know that development starts from the city, so apart from the 100km Owerri city that was created in 1970 and the former capital of Abia State, which other place is urbanized in Imo state?
Can you compare Mbaise, Mbano, Mbaitolu, Obowo, Orlu to any town in Anambra State
Lagos is the only state in Nigeria that can compete with Anambra state, don't insult Ndi Anambra.
Below is the Google definition of urbanized and developed city by the main city area, underdeveloped areas aren't included in the city area. If you're wise enough, you should understand that Ihiala city and its metro with a city area of 300km is more urbanized than Owerri with metro city of 104km.

An Igbo proverb wisely states, "Those who fetch ants-infested firewood should expect a feast of lizards." These Igbo people investing their life's work in troubled parts of Nigeria with heavy anti-Igbo sentiments believe they are wiser than everyone else pointing these things out.

It's important to urge our fellow brothers and sisters to remember their roots, but they must also understand that actions have consequences. Personally, I've grown tired of pleading with our people to change their mindset. They seem solely focused on maximizing profits without considering the risks, diversifying their ventures, or contributing to their home state's development. Let them continue on this path, but they must be prepared to face the consequences of their actions. Like the owner of the Landmark Beach Resort now facing repercussions of ignoring warnings of caution and pursuing unchecked greed which ultimately leads to inevitable losses. Today, he has suddenly remembered that he is Igbo with NOTHING to show anywhere in Igboland for his stupendous wealth.

Yet, it's still crucial to continue reminding them to seize opportunities available in Igboland to invest and diversify wisely. Life isn't just about profit and loss. Chinese businessmen once chose to invest in China over Japan, understanding the importance of developing their homeland. Similarly, Igbo individuals fixated solely on profit margins should recognize the pitfalls of blind greed.

I believe that part of the reason why our people run away from the southeast as a place meant for uneducated, lawless people was the way the previous governors turned a blind eye to the slumming of our cities. Especially in Anambra and Abia states.

That is why Soludo’s efforts to regenerate our cities, and tackle lawlessness must be applauded.

We had indeed lost so much due to the hitherto lawlessness, criminality mildly referred to as “touting” and indiscriminate building of markets all over the place.
