He didn't even add that a month's rent over there can be more than a professional's 1-year rent here.
the more you earn the more rent you pay. this is grade 5 economics. you cant be earning 1 million per month and be looking for a 50k slum to live in. seriiously some of you need to go back to school. lipsrsealed

Who else notice that the japa noise has reduced these days? Or people no longer japa again ? Before, anywhere you go on social media you’ll see things like “I don’t get these things, I just talk to a man who sold his 5 duplexes and 500 cars and 6 businesses in Nigeria to relocate to UK permanently “ “new dispensation”

Is it that people no longer japa ir they’re hiding it now?

It really picks up from around July, a lot of people japa via study route.

Let's be honest. If you bring a British, American or Canadian here, no matter how brilliant and well connected they are, until they come here and experience Nigeria, they still don't have Nigerian experience. It is what it is.
.
Very true....they may struggle to cope

The people that are in the serious process of Japaing are not making noise in the social media while those making noise and fouling the air in the social media do not even have a passport.

UK is just an overrated country. Aside the presence of electricity I dont even see the difference between Nigeria and the UK. I have friends in the UK with the same experience level as I am and they cant even get a job interview despite being there for more than a year o. They will be saying UK experience. As if the javascript written in the UK is different from the one written in Nigeria. Canada is a much better place but an extremely difficult place to survive if you arent well loaded. Australia has made great changes to its post study scheme. I am so glad I followed an uncommon route and I like it so far.
you don't see any difference between UK and naija? At least, if you nearly drowned and they brought you out of the water, you will be taken straight to a well equipped hospital in an ambulance while been resuscitated by professionals and not taken for rituals by the river, that my friend, is a huge milestone difference.

I didn’t want to comment.they tell u what they earn, they don’t tell u what they spend .my rent in Toronto is 2.3m naira monthly for a room and palor.that money can pay for a 3 bedroom yearly rent in lekki.that money in 12 months can buy someone a 3 bedroom modest bungalow.my prayer is for everyone to go to this abroad and see things for themselves.

Can I email you?

For me I think ppl are beginning to reconsider due to the exchange rates….

When they say UK experience, they are talking about you having the work experience as regarding knowing the UK work culture environment. They want to be convinced you know how to act in a UK business environment setting and not an African setting. In the end, it boils down to lack of respect for black Africans because they wont tell a white south African the same thing.

US has been so hard cuz they no dey give visa again. It’s like they’ve shadowbaned the green passport, but keep collecting money from us for visa — you’re spending nothing less than 1M+ trying to get appointment, especially if you are thinking of the student route — yet denied. Go to Walter Carrington around 6AM to 8AM, and see crowd , only to get denied and money wasted. Most Nigerians now will rather use their money chop fish and open shop for their wives to be selling beans and rice than to waste such money on American visa
Swears bro
I ain't trying US again from Nigeria after the struggles i had last year with them

Went to Carrington twice last year nd was denied after all the stress.

I use to tell my folks that US have blacklist Nigerians after I saw the rate of rejection there, those ppl 're just ripping Us cause they already know they 're not going to give the Visa

Oboy, expenses are not in Naira there.

How about him earning the ''5 million'' there and spending ''4.8 million'' on bills monthly??

Guyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy,

Based on everything that happened when we left, the only place I can think of moving to would be the US as it is unarguably the best place for a skilled black professional to thrive. Initially, it was tough and odd due to distance and language differences, but upon settling down and learning the language, it has been good. Most importantly, the immigration policies have been consistent. Right from when I researched Japan's immigration policies in 2017, they have been consistent and even further liberalised. Inconsistency and changing the goalpost are things I dislike in life.

Further liberalised to address their population crisis?

Is this the motivation for similar policies in Germany and Italy

Job dey but most don't meet the needed requirements. For example, in children social care sector here in the UK, work plenty once you enter the system..

So far according to the UK threads, there are no jobs. Everyone cannot leave their career path to become a children social care worker, besides the 38k requirement is also an issue.

Do you know what QUALITY of life means?

How likely is it that freak accidents like what happened in PH recently with hundreds killed and vehicles destroyed, occurs in the japa destinations

To cite just one example o.

This. They will calculate the exchange rate as if the money is being spent in Nigeria lol.

I don't know why people do that honestly.
Maybe to feel better or what?
Even within the same country, it doesn't make sense comparing earnings to location of living.
It doesn't make sense comparing someone earning 300k in Lagos to someone earning 200k in Osun and this is even still in the same country not to talk of UK/Lagos.

Many who suffered in Nigeria after graduation without a job for many years immediately became okay after leaving Nigeria for foreign countries who value human life.
You can never go hungry in some countries even without a job.
Nigeria is not like that.

Exactly. It's stupid. Honestly it's just that Africa has no prospects and Nigeria itself is very very hopeless especially with this stupid APC government but I will say migration is really overrated men. I can't imagine selling my house and stuff and suffering like how others are suffering for this grin grin grin
