Why flaunt the fact that she is Yoruba, what do we achieve with that fact?. Even if some tribalistic bigots are always tribalising every positive or negative news must we encourage it? Honestly we should have grown beyond this level. I just watched a clip of Nigeria-Bulgaria match in 1994 and boy, am I proud to be a Nigeria whilst reminiscing on that glorious achievement! When it comes to sports we wont start looking at the tribe of who scored or who created the goal, why are we doing it in our every day lives now.

Anyway, what am I even saying , the same tribal bigotry has now crept into our sports arena given the stupid comments from some people after our loss to Cote D'Ivoire in the last Nations Cup

Change the name to Chioma or chidimma now and see toxic tribal comments everywhere. See as they're praising the lady and her Yoruba ethnic group with no problems or hate filled comments. If it were to be Igbo now, These bitter souls would have filled the thread with their usual bitter comments. Some would have searched the whole Internet to see if someone else has done something similar just to discredit the lady. Bitterness resides in the south west!

Did you read the article? Was South West mentioned? She is the daughter of Nigerian immigrants.
This thing really annoys me with Nigerians. Ask the woman if she even knows how many states Nigeria has, she wouldn't know.

I don't think Nigeria will ever move forward of we continue with the mentality of a lot of people in this thread. I've only see 2 comments that is sensible here so far (yours inclusive)

How does this reflect on the ICT capabilities of her country of birth and the 220 million people she left behind, including her close relatives

So they should not celebrate with her?

Why should people celebrate ordinary undergraduates on their their convocation day and not celebrate a PhD holder?

Smart by half

How does not celebrating her improves the situation of the 200m Nigerians

The environment abroad limits hatred and competition among Nigerians. The true Nigerian spirit of mutual help and support is a survival tactic.

A Nigerian woman died and for several days, her neighbours did not know. It was a Nigerian from chruch who did not see her in church that raised alarm.

A competitive Nigerian who does not have the thinking of the greater good of all Nigerians but himself would most likely not have other Nigerians around him.
You couldn't have said it better.

Do you even know what a negative energy is? And how did you decipher that from my statement?. You don't need to use big words you don't understand just to show you are learned, instead you are showing your ignorance more
