Yes. You're right.
I equally saw it..........but I don't think its possible for the price to be N1m. It could be a mistake from the MM/personnel that included it in the EQTY section...

If you notice, there isn't any data available in the columns till now......this is not typical of a newly listed company.
It could be that the volumes aren't visible because of the price tag attached to it.

Alright

I don't think so. If you look at the trading pattern some people are making sure the price of Transcorp Power doesn't fall. They are not likely to change after the dividend was paid.

Mind sharing your thoughts on buying Treasury bill when you can probably earn same rate in bonds for at least another 3-5yrs since you don't trust the fundamentals of the economy at this time. Thank you
I have quite a few of long dated FGN Bonds between 15 - 20 years . They serve as cash flow and some other purposes.

The money I put in Tbills at the moment were originally meant for stocks but it does look like we are yet to see the bottoms of some stocks I have eyes on .

So instead of leaving them idle in savings account and getting measly 5% , I decided to put them in Tbills , compound them , as I continue to keep my eyes on the stocks I've penned down for purchase

Three 'easy' routes:
1. Become a major stakeholder (min 5% of the shares). Non-executive
2. Climb the professional ladder. Executive
3. Know the owner of the company... wink

There are several key reforms i believe should take effect in the NGX.
One of them is earning interest on deposits in brokerage accounts.
I believe this is long overdue... wink

I can confirm that Veritas is a potential dividends thief, not joking, I was underpaid by over N1,600,000.00 , going to initiate the process of reclaiming my Zenith Bank 2023 dividend from this perennial Dividend robber by next week. Giving up gradually on this obodo naija.
Corporate and public thieves everywhere.

It's possible. But even now there are about 5m to 6m offers everyday with no buyers. I suspect those might be the ones that sell in May caught, and they are definitely not the major money people that can move the price. The high volume transactions are off-floor crosses, and they make sure they don't do 100,000 unit single deals.

Hi people. Can one become an NED of a Nigerian publicly listed company by merely buying shares and being the largest shareholder (Just like Otedola Vs FBNH)?

Me, using my Zenith dividend to step down on a hot Thursday afternoon

me this was what i did.

1. instead of N1.8 dividend of access bank, i sold all my holding before qualification date for N23, entered with all the money again at N17. My own dividend compounded directly was N6 (23-17). My total shares increased tremedously

2. UCAP, i sold before qualification at N22.5 to jump the N1.8 dividend. used all the money and entered at N16.8. Dividend compounded was N5.7 (22.5 - 16.8 )

the above was possible because those stocks did not recover immediately as some might do. sometimes this thing na luck. i just took my chance.

e get one wey i don sell all too and waiting at the point of entry, that one done drop 25%, i am waiting for just 5% drop and i am good to go.

I hardly chop dividend directly. i no like that 10% withholding from my proceed.

I go drink beer next year

Good strategy. But the 10% WHT (withholding tax) will probably be lesser than your brokerage fee. Let’s say your brokerage fee on a #20 stock is 3% (cumulative to sell and re-buy). You lose #0.6 on going for such round trip. Whereas same #20 stock has a 10% dividend yield of #2 so your 10% WHT will be #0.2 per share. At the end, what you’re running from in WHT will still catch you via brokerage fees. Except the stock depreciates considerably after dividend payments (like your UCAP and Access examples) but that’s not a certainty (e.g Zenith is yet to depreciate post-dividend payment).

However, it must be stated that this only works for stocks with good price yet pays 'peanuts' as dividend...
