I've noticed that the hotspot trips off each time the data starts getting used by the phone or laptop I connected to it, almost as if there is a data usage limit of a certain kB/s rate it mustn't cross. And I'm a heavy user.
For example, the second I start watching a video online, it trips off.

Just see it as the difference between 3G and 4G, some older devices cannot connect to 5GHz WiFi

check ur storage space , delete unwanted app,video ,picture also upgrade ur phone to the lastest software up.

Just want the phone display to be a bit crisp.

Should I upgrade on the version?

If you have battery saver turned on, disable it. If you look well around the battery area, there is a setting turning off your hotspot

I don't know if this is the problem, go to your security app>>>>Settings >>>>>battery optimisation then set switch off mobile data when device is locked to never

have you try restarting the phone. That is what I do when my hotspot keeps disconnecting.

If you follow this thread a lot you will see where I have adviced people against buying CN Versions.

The MTN 4G band available in your location are not available on the CN Version.

Guys I'm contemplated replacing my redmi note 12 with an oppo a96. Is it really an upgrade?

A96 is a little bit dated and I don't know how consistent oppo is with OTA Updates.

What do you guys think?

Settings - homescreen - with app drawer.

You can change you font by clicking on themes in your setting

You can also Download wallpapers from the theme menu

Wow. You mean you experienced this too? It worked well before. It started this problem recently. And it's a new phone. Bought it this year.

Unfortunately this is not the problem as the settings are already exactly as you described.

Ah screenshot. I don't use a Redmi phone. You can check your settings if any kind of battery saver is turned on. Look around your phone settings. It might be a result of buggy software though
