It is the responsibility of government to provide adequate security for the citizenry.

Adequate security would include the capacity and capability to apprehend,arrest and deal with any criminal even after the crime had been committed.

Crime reduces when the potential criminals are aware they would be caught and dealt with.

You guys don't think. Owning guns hasn't stopped robbery in the US. you're even more twice in danger of getting shot than in a society where guns are scarce.

Cuz Police or thieves in the US approach you having in mind that you might have a gun, so they approach you with fear and a safety off gun and any slight uneasy body movement will cost u ur life bfr knowing you don't even got a gun on you. In a country like Nigeria that houses trigger happy police thousands of innocent lives will be lost either u own a Glock or not and there are excuses of fear to exempt them from punishments.
