pls I would like to ask this question again ,I had a banned 5 years ago for overstaying for 4 months ,The banned expired last year September ,wanted to ask if it’s okay to apply for SA again Incase I want to ? And mind you I have also renewed my passport and I have different passport number

I was actually considering Long Stay for my next. I'm certain I'll get up to one year for that.

Renewing your passport doesn't change anything. You have a unique DHA number which doesn't change with any visa granted you. Within the period of your ban, have you visited other countries?

I'll also suggest you wait till next year before reapplying, and make sure you state your earlier ban. Otherwise na another ban you go chop.

3month visa don tire frequent travelers. Attach all your previous visa to them, and tell them to give 1 year. Them go don sabi you for that embassy. lol

yes I have been to other countries,UAE particularly .I was trying to even email them to Knwo if the banned would expired automatically as was stated ,Cos it says the banned would expired September 3rd ,and it was then j can try to enter sa. Again

It has automatically been lifted. Again, I suggest you give it another year or two before attempting to enter SA. Traveling to only one country in five years won't convince them that you are a responsible traveler. Go to other places and don't overstay - this is what SA would use to judge you in your next application.

Congratulations to me, i got one year visiting sticker visa yesterday, i submitted on April 30 and was released on 15th though the visa was approved on 8th, I did it myself, no agent, thanks to nairaland for guidance

I once lived in SA for 5 years with my hubby who was also working. My last visa was overstayed because I was waiting for reply from home affairs. It 9 years since we came back to Nigeria (with 2 kids) hubby too became frustrated when he couldn't renew his visa too. He later came back to Nigeria. Now, I want to apply for master's and go back, is there any chance of being given visa after 9 years, with over stay record even though the years have passed?
