What I bought 33k That Means The Shop will Worth 10 Million.. by Bullfallo(m): 4:30pm On May 23 |
Went to market today to buy food items from food provision store. What I bought was 33k. 2L of vegetable oil 5k. Half kg chicken 2.3k, Ogbono 4 cups 6k. 3 spaghetti 3k. 2L red oil 3k plus. Fish 4k beaf 2k. with others many small smal things That’s below 2k each. 33 disappeared. I then look at my bag and look at the shop again. That shop look like something that will worth 10m with current inflation rate. A shop that 500k will run during Jonathan time is millions in worth. So who don’t have millions cant run such business. Just 5 years ago what I bought 33k so 4k-5k would have bought all of them. When obj approved 15k minimum wage. A bag of foreign rice was below 4k. Civil servants were buy lands and could build something. Fuel was 35 naira. You will get a toks car 150k to 200k. But today a foreign rice is 90k and fuel 1k 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Bullfallo:but 5 years ago you won't have the 33k to spend in a shop. You see, when rice was 5k per bag people still couldn't afford it, people used to measure with cups and they even go for cheaper ones, dirty and filled with stones. The world is a scam. The monetary system is a scam. They use one hand to give you and then collect it back with the other hand 1 Like 1 Share |

helinues:and this folks is why we advice you to ignore individuals like this when they tell you to not save or hold your wealth in stable currencies eg the USD. They simply mostly just don't know what they are saying 99% of the time, and are only interested in making you what Yoruba's call 'da bi mo se da'. In countries with stable currencies, prices of goods and services aside maybe real estate do not swing wildly even over 10-20 years. When a currency is stable, its store of value is stable and consequently prices are stable. Naira is a fickle currency and that explains why it swings wildly even in a mere 24hours. 2014 Honda Accord in 2014 2024 Honda Accord in 2024. Did it swing in 10 years? Absolutely not. It stayed well within range. Pay attention to the prices of a gallon of milk from 1995 to date. It didn't swing beyond a range of 2.5-4, since 1995!!!!! Let that sink in folks. Rather unfortunate that Nigeria is bedeviled with a population with more of the quality of the person I quoted, wildly ignorant, uneducated and unenlightened... which explains why we are where we are. Knowledge is power, truly. 3 Likes

ekanDamie:If you get bitten by a snake, you get up and go to the hospital. You don't sit down blaming the snake, it is the nature of snakes to bite. Raise your standards above the economy, that's the best way out. Get a new/better job, that's usually one of the surest ways of getting a raise in this country. Or develop yourself so that you can get other streams of income. Borrow money from friends and family to start a side hustle. Just do anything to stay above water. |

Feldie:and who told you I don’t have the 33k ? 5years ago 33 is no longer money na. You know whom you are talking to? |
Re: What I bought 33k That Means The Shop will Worth 10 Million.. by ekanDamie: 8:06pm On May 23 |
Feldie:That's not true. Don't sat what u don't know. Alot of people even poorest people could afford a bag of rice, but they chose not to spend the whole of their income on just rice, dey decided to buy atleasr a moodle of rice, beans, garri, or lesser atleast to ger variety n manage till their next pay. Stop justifying this kind if inflation it is not the kind of inflation that any country should go through. Even the cost of rice is bigger than times 3 of some peoples salary, I agree the world is crazy but Africa n Nigeria are even more doomed 1 Like |

Feldie: That's a big lie there, five years ago, the country was bubbling, people literally hosts themselves almost everyday With 500 in your hand, you can organize boys and things will start flowing Today 1k can't get a decent meal anywhere in Nigeria, and you blabbing dust The thing is we know things won't remain same, but the skyrocketing is getting too much Except if you don't run a business or do anything tangible in Nigeria You go feel the heat abeg |
Re: What I bought 33k That Means The Shop will Worth 10 Million.. by Feldie: 1:17am On May 24 |
ekanDamie:people that could afford a bag of rice when it was 5k can still afford it now. Is it not the same Nigeria where children jubilate on Sundays when their mom are cooking rice and stew? The same Nigeria where rice is considered a special dish reserved for special occasion and Christmas? Forget it. By the way, this is not an attempt to excuse the failure and stupidity of the government, Nigerian government is simply worthless and not even worthy of being talked about but still fact is fact. Cement used to be 700 yet how many people were able to build houses? |
