Mercisharelove:Go and look for work is valid though. You're preaching doesn't mean you should become a dependent or a financial nuisance to people around you. Paul was a tent maker and a lawyer, and part of his "pride",if I'll call it that, is though he could demand financial aid from his congregation, he opted not to, lest anyone speak evil of the good work he was doing. Matthew still worked taxes. Luke was a doctor. James, John, Peter, were fishermen. If you don't have a full-blown ministry or are not a missionary, then you should most certainly be working. Not saying you shouldn't preach. Please do. But while waiting for Christ's secondary coming, we don't wait in idleness. Whatsoever your hands find to do, do with all your might. Your hands should find something to do. |
