I've been dating a girl for some years now, and during the period of time that we dated some ugly incidents happened that made the relationship unideal for us.
So gradually we both going our separate ways, but the more I keep my distance from her, the more I want her in my life.
The worse part is, if she comes back to me I will start regretting that I don't want her in my life.
And if she goes I will start saying I want her back.
I personally do not know what is wrong with me.
Has anyone had any of such experience??
Please I want someone to tell me what is wrong.

I was in this state some time last year and two years ago. It was so tough for me that at some point, it felt like I was being malicious.

I know I wanted the lady, but things didn't seem to be working out. Thankfully, I changed location towards the end of last year and for me, it has been helpful.

I miss her a lot, because she's a pretty good woman, but the distance and "busyness" have helped tremendously. Like someone said above, you need to sort out yourself, and you can't do that by seeing or communicating with her frequently. Otherwise, you'll keep hurting her and yourself.

Experientially, I can confidently say that if you drastically reduce communication with her, with time you'll find balance in your emotions.

That doesn't mean you've stopped loving her, it means you've gained control over your emotions. Then you'd learn to restrict your heart from getting in the way of your head.
