Good morning everyone please how do I go about with change of birth month on my passport I have date as 5th August 1991
But my real date of birth is 15th April 1991

I paid an agent who process my passport for me during my capturing I was told d date of birth on my NIN is 5th August and I ask my agent he ask me to use it and swore affidavit that later on I can change it to April 15th that is changeable since am already in for capturing. Now I just did my finding and find out is changeable is in Abuja please if anyone has done this before I would appreciate your reply as all my credentials and cert is carrying 15th of April. Thanks everyone

Your passport must match what's on your NIN. If they are both wrong then you need to change both then. Change NIN first, then do passport afterwards.

Good day house, I want to change a name In my passport as it doesn't tally with my nin, school certification, etc but I have been denied Canada and shengen two years ago, I hope this doesn't affect my next application

The date of birth on my passport, NIN and BVN are all the same which is 15th August 1991, but the date of birth on my Weac results, Nysc cert is April 15th, and April 15th is the correct date of birth

The mistake was from my BVN, which I think link to my NIN,now it reflecting same on my passport, it a new passport I want to correct all the date of birth what do u think I can do. Thanks

I think you should change it with the passport office first, then apply using the updated one on the new passport. It's also important that it matches what's on your NIN.

How I did mine? Everything is already here on this thread. To update your passport data you must enter Abuja and it’s not cheap but dunno the recent prices


I walked into the nearest passport and met an officer who got a contact in Abuja ( person wey dey capture )

In my own case I no spend reach 20inches for that Abuja passport office and I entered my city same day.

My expired passport DOB is correct. But NIn DOB was not correct initially but I did correction 3 years ago. The problem now is that my corrected DOB reflects on nin portal but each time I tried to apply for passport renewal, the passport portal still recognises the incorrect nin DOB that I have corrected already.

I did NIN first withe the correct DOB and surname.

I updated my BVN info via email cuz I did my BVN outside Naija.

Recently, Nigeria Immigration Service profoundly stated that for people doing data correction on their passport, you can do it online from their site, and also do capturing from any Immigration office in your locality and not necessarily going to Abuja.

I applied for correction of my name, date of birth and reissuance of my expired passport. It was seemless on immigration site. I made payment online totalling N65,000.00. I was instructed to go to PH immigration centre for capturing.

To my greatest surprise, those immigration officers that use to vet documents are asking me to pay the sum of N105,000.00 for my request to be processed. They said my folder will need to be approved by their controller and sent to Abuja for another approval or so, hence the need to make the payment before they can proceed. I'm stunned.

Please who has experienced this and how was it surmounted?

Many are in your shoes, seems it is only NIMC portal that their staff is that shows corrected date of birth but their app portal and all other portal will show the original one used during capturing. So many people to avoid inconsistency kuku regularize the original one by changing bvn and any other document to be same with the original date of birth at NIMC.

NIN date of birth can be changed online via the self modification portal all you need do is. Create an account validate your NPC certificate or apply for attestation and input the correct date of birth you want to appear on your NIN. Your NPC certificate comes out in less than an hour then continue with the self service modification, validate the NPC Attestation certificate that was issued by entering the certificate ID on the NIMC portal and the correct details on the NPC attestation will reflect on the NIMC portal. Complete your application and upload the NPC Attestation certificate as supporting document.

My NIMC took a total of 5 days for my DOB to change.

Note I paid money to one yeye NIMC staff that keeps telling me stories for over 6 months, I just have to do it myself. I go collect my money back from the yeye man when am ready.

So if you want to change details on your passport. First you need to make sure what you are changing to tally with whatever that is on your NIN then the rest is history.

Please my nin and every thing is in the name I want to change it to…. It’s only my passport that has a different name and I don’t know how to go about it

Good morning everyone, please I have this challenge and i'll appreciate your useful responses.

I applied for my first international passport( e-passport) about 6years ago but because of the information I didn't have then, I used 1986 as my year of birth but now I want to change it to the normal 1985 because all other credentials have 1985.

I waited for the passport to expire which it has last February, so i'm willing to do a new one but all those I spoke to said I can't change the year of birth because once I do the BIOMETRICS, it will bring up all my data even if I don't show my expired passport

Please kindly advise on the steps to take to change this or even contacts that can help. I don't even mind going to Abuja for this thing to change.
