It will go lower than that price because, Inflation and forex shortage worries MPC members( punch newspaper). I am sure they might increase rate by next MPC meeting coming up by July and investor will dive high interest rate then stock price will drop. grin
Yes we will START to REPURCHASE at circa #9 then if it goes LOWER we AVERAGE DOWN.

What is DSR up to ?

The CBN MPR is at 24.75% (I think ...) and banks can or do lend at higher rates. So, I see it as a strategic move by DSR to be raising more funds directly from the private sector and individuals. They can potentially get cheaper rates than what they get from banks. There are always risks though; I hope it is managed well. undecided

Every large business operates on debt (sort of ... grin ); this is the power of capitalism. It is through this mechanism that huge revenues are generated. shocked cool

I dis agree on the two things you mentioned. The country just borrowed in dollars. And forex has been stable. It will likely start heading down gradually or stay flat.
Then for inflation. It has reached it bend. You should expect very slow downward movement. And we are entering the quaters of harvest of farm produce. The last two months was maginal increase in inflation.

June inflation would have signalled what you said but i am thinking the cost of Rams, Cows and Donkeys alone during the sallah period and the spike in cost of Pepper and beans and tomatoes this month alone will make food inflation higher than previous month. Unless if you never buy beans and pepper recently. Even Groundnut oil and roasted groundnut don spike for June. cassava flour (not garri o) and akpu that people were rushing as food for common man got doubled in price. As for akpu the amount is still N100 but it has been sliced into tiny circle which is just enough to swallow 3 times.

Omo by the time new minimum wage is announced for the less than 1% government workers, the market will further react to punish the remaining 99%.

Na hyper inflation me i dey see for now

Please when did they raise this capital? I've not been looking at the Nigerian markets
A summary of the additional tier 1 USD capital is in their last annual report on Page 204. Total is USD 800m. The older instrument has an interest rate of 5.25% and the newer one has an interest of 15%. See picture below.

I guess these USD capital raised as well as NGN shareholder funds converted to USD at lower rates in years back must have been used to fund their African expansion. If the expansion goes well Access will do well.

Don’t underestimate their expansion. I remember when UBA was doing its west African expansion, now they bring a chunk of the groups revenue. Also remember that access bank bought some of these outside banks at a discount I.e from atlas Mara. Don’t also forget that they now sit on arm pensions as a group. Isn’t that the second largest pension at the time? I think it’s grossly undervalued in my opinion
On Access. I am not bullish or bearish on their expansion but neutral. I am just pointing out where one should watch closely as a fundamental investor. Watch their subsidiaries closely for profits. If one can be ahead of the market with insight of key impactful subsidiaries doing excellently one can buy bullishly ahead of the local market. Afterall as you highlighted they got some, at deep discount. Perhaps that's why they got bullish and took additional USD at higher interest rate to close out the deal. And I guess over the years they locked in some NGN into USD to purchase these assets at lower exchange rates. I guess the assets we need to watch closely are in the picture below.

I am however bullish on OANDO. And will start buying more (small small) once the price falls below N11. I will like to know that thing on OANDO that you have. Please share as I am bullish on OANDO grin grin grin

Like play like play, Julius Berger is getting to N100. Even a day after dividends were paid. Not the usual price slump from dividend declaration/qualification date. Please what is driving this? It was said that CCECC and other chinese firms in the construction sector will affect its profitability but then...

The shares you have in UPDCREIT is as a result of your holdings in UACN and UACN Property. The divestment/unbundling of UACN from UAC Property and UPDCREIT about two or three years ago gives all shareholders of UACN and UAC Property some units of UPDCREIT in their portfolio. You can read the story in Nairametrics, NGX, or other websites that cover capital market-related news or even previous pages of this thread.

We are talking of publication by punch Newspaper as at yesterday 25th June 2024;stating that Inflation and shortage of forex worries MPC members, from what is happen at the forex parallel market we can all see how dollar/naria exchange has been struggling between 1450- 1500+, can we call that stability.
Definitely they must increase rate again.then the price of all stock will come down including Oando, What
I am saying is that we should be mindful of MPC rate increase, while doing anything in the market especially now. grin
