If you are the mummy's boy type, you have to start learning to dissociate yourself from your parents, this is not to say they do not matter, do not get this wrong at all.

They can only give advice, you and your partner are meant to talk about things and then come out with conclusion and execute it. I have heard of cases where two in the relationship takes decision and after few days, the man's mother was the one that called the wife just to change the decision.

Your parent are not in the position to make decision for you, they can only guide you, if they call your attention to something, you need to also consult your partner and make the decision, this is the best way to show that you respect your woman and you value her input.

If you marry right, you should utilize the gift God has given you, women are truly gifted with good wisdom, if you have the good one among them, don't allow the influence of your parent make her bad.

Even if your parent are trying to impose decisions on you, wisdom is needed before application as your partner's emotion matters.

any man who has his mother in his life should cherish her regardless of how his future wife may feel... if a man decides that his mother's views are more important than his future wife's views then so be it. there is no right nor wrong here.
your mother's views are important and your future wife's views are also important, and as a man you need to balance the two and take decision in your family accordingly. expecting a man to always/automatically disregard his mother's views just because he is married is not only very foolish but also very dangerous.

example: a wife who never had children would be clueless about babies, and your mother would know best. automatically disregarding what your mother would say about such issue would be a grave mistake. remember, at the end of the day, a mother only wants whats best for her child.
