/ We learned romance and proposal from Oyibo but their marriage has 70% divorce rate. Go figure! Our people have even added "kneeling down" to propose and they wonder why marriages barely last in recent times. Imagine the deep psychological impact on a woman seeing a whole chief kneeling down in front of her like a kid. The respect is automatically diminished mentally. The dilution of the marriage institution started with the importation of some unnecessary Oyibo cultures into Nigerian marital institutions. It will only get worse as soon as Gen-Z start. / |

So I have some men Who acted ahead of me...😂😂😂 It's how it should be. Since our men started kneeling down, Nigeria is now Amongst the countries with highest Divorce rate.. Some things are spiritual..Becareful not use your own hand put off your Light. |

Zee world, Korean, and and Latin America soap operas are confusing some women into thinking "romance" should always look like what is acted out on tv, and it's making them dissatisfied with their livea. |

It is very unfortunate to see this generation of Gen Zees getting misled by this model of Western/Hollywood concepts of dating and marriage. How on earth can you use what you watch on TV as a template for a marriage proposal in an African setting? I despise men who get down on their knees to ask a woman's hand in marriage as though she's the one doing him a favor by marrying her. The man did the right thing jare. A simple text can suffice |

A real igbo man will not kneel down to propose. That's not because we don't value or love the woman but because we kneel only to God |

Disgusting, arrogant, inhumane creatures. Very useless state that should be razed down. Whatever. |

43Ronin:It's not about Igbo man or their culture. Kneeling down to propose to a woman is very alien to African culture in general. |

Honestly this is the best way. That man is serious and not doing it for Instagram or WhatsApp. None of my bloodline knelt down to propose to their wives and I would not be an exception. How can you just publicly SURPIRE somone to marry you? Alien culture. |

43Ronin:She should know him well enough when he assure her that "we are in this together". No need for acting and WhatsApp statues. |

I no sure say I do any formal proposal for my wife sef. We just found ourselves preparing to go see her people, because while dating, we were already like husband and wife. All these romantic proposals these days and the marriage collapses within months is nonsense. Real men don't have time to play 😀 |

You should have told him that you re rejecting his proposal, make you quick sabi say you re replaceable. |

How a man proposed is not an indicator of if he will treat u right or not. They can propose on the moon or on the phone or send their uncles it don't mean shit. |

These are men! The Pete Edochie type. With ring in hand, sitting comfortably facing the lucky lady...we fit run am? 95% of men that kneel proposing marriage are simp. Strong men don't kneel. Ask all the women that their men didn't kneel to propose marriage. 90% of them are stayed married decades later. |

Marry well; that's what matters . The manner of proposal is nothing, if there is no peace in the marriage. |

My elder brother was just in the sitting room with his then fiancé (now wife). He just casually asked her "Babe, I think we should move this relationship to marriage stage. What do you think?". My father didn't bend the knee, my brother didn't kneel, I will not embarrass my bloodline. Woman wey love you and wants to be "Mrs" will not even remember the leg you used to kneel or walk. |
