I'm bursting with joy, and I just can't keep it to myself! My daughters have filled my heart to the brim, and I'm compelled to share their sweet gestures with the world. Maybe, just maybe, it'll inspire some fellow dads to shower their kiddos with love and affection.

I'm a proud papa of two little ladies, ages 10 and 5. I love them more than pounded yam, and that's a lot! I try to show them love and affection as often as possible, and it seems they're catching on. The other day, I was lounging on the couch, reading a book, and being my usual cool dad self (just kidding, I was probably snoring). My 5-year-old mini-me walks up to me, plops herself on my lap, and gives me a big ol' hug. But that's not all - she breaks into song. A song she made up herself, with a whopping four words: "I love you, Daddy!" I mean, what's a dad to do? I was a goner, people. Overcome with joy, and still grinning from ear to ear. It's been several weeks since this happened and I still can't describe how it makes me feel.

And then there's my 10-year-old, who's apparently been paying attention to our morning routine. We switched schools, and I thought our forehead kisses were just a thing of the past. But nope! She pipes up and says, "Daddy, you haven't been kissing us since we started this school!" I was shocked, but in a good way. It turns out, those little kisses meant the world to her.

Fellow dads, listen up. We often get a bad rap for being stoic and unemotional, but trust me, our kids crave our affection. So, don't be afraid to show your love and get a little sappy. Your kids will appreciate the tough-guy exterior, but they'll adore the softie inside even more. Take it from me, a dad who's learning to embrace his inner cheesiness.
