If not for the 100,000 trade rule, Seplat would be approaching N10,000 by now. It’s been on full bid for some 2 straight weeks!

The whole OS is barely 1.2bn even with the bonus inclusive...
66.14% of it belongs to substantial, Directors and influential shareholders while,
33.86% is for free float.

In my opinion, lot's of patience is the key here.
Let's allow the itchy fingers dump finish if they choose to, then the patient ones should wait for the company's next move.
* Any dumping/fall will be an opportunity to pick more.

Q2 2024 Shareholding structure of 253million OS before bonus addition attached.
Thanks for the info!

Dumping of VFD is highly expected because people are already in times 2 profits but the long term goal of huge profitings is refreshing
How many people are in profit yet?
Except for those that bought on Nasdaq, those that picked at 182/214 or thereabout on NGX can't be in much profit for now, but if anyone can wait it out, they'll make much gain .....all things being equal.

Meanwhile, institutional investors are still taking position in JAPAUL, I'll not advice anyone to sell in haste.....let's see what they are up to first....

Those talking about dilution, did you not remember that the 8bn additional shares already got owners?

* This is just my opinion anyway...... remember you are the CEO of your portfolio.

First Bank current price seem forced. I have made about 60% from the rally and I thinking of selling off and wait for the pull back to re-enter with the profit.

I don't see First Bank shares trading at ₦40 per unit this year. Nothing fundamental seem to be driving the stock.
I will exit most of my positions here if u ask me

Saw this on Twitter
Who remembers this? Been tracking it since then so i can know when they finish selling that 1% from Nigeria which was primarily dangote cement. It seems they have finished offloading and have even taken the cash out of Nigeria. With this sell pressure off the table, i expect a turn around in dangcem share price before end of q4. Up till now, pa Emma, aj8, ogg, mcy et.al did not tell me their clear view of fidson based on their recent reports.
huh huh

Sell or hold
ositadima1:
Let me try my hand at analyzing Fidson. Fidson is a tough one, and there may be hidden notes in the 2023 financial report, but I haven't checked thoroughly.

Fidson's cash flow from operations is about 1.54 billion naira, as reported in the financials, which it almost entirely paid out as dividends of 60 kobo per share. However, capital expenditure was several times the cash flow, at about 4.53 billion naira, which I guess was funded by a 6.7 billion naira increase in borrowings for the year.

Most of this capex comes from capital work in progress (WIP), about 3.3 billion naira. A similar magnitude was also invested in the previous year, 2022. I don't know what they're planning, but maybe they acquired some of GlaxoSmithKline's assets. Since it's WIP, it's not yet operational and has yet to generate revenue.

As I mentioned before, debt increased significantly, but the debt-to-equity ratio was still acceptable at 0.96. I anticipate Fidson generating much more revenue and, consequently, profits when the WIP investments become operational.

I hope a FCFE per share of 1.2 naira will not be too far off. Running the MC simulation with 1.2 would put Fidson's value between 16 and 31 naira. Fidson appears to be undervalued.

Note: The key to Fidson's future performance will likely be how well they can translate their capital investments (the huge capital WIP) into revenue and profit growth.
aj8:
Over priced based on eps. Common sense about N3.30 and still falling . Not the type I like to touch even with my health care background. Time to book whatever profits and let your principle run if you are in love with the stock.
Will Fidson enter my calculated value zone, or will common sense prevail, bringing it down to N3.30? Well, let's allow Mr. Time to tell. By the way, MC stands for Monte Carlo, referring to my small simulation engine. grin grin shocked

So those listing Dangote Refinery on NGX will likely harvest their profits quickly. Buying on NGX may not be that attractive.

You can't compare Africa continent to other part of developed world where they have great alternative sources of energy. In Africa which remains a strong hold of dangote, we are still going to be relying on fossil fuel for atleast another 15-20 years which is a good PBP for dangrefinery.

Agree. Africa will need petrol for a long time. Another plus for the refinery is it has other products apart from fuels that will remain in demand for Africa and the rest of the world. What's the list of the other products apart from fuels sef?

In addition to your valued submissions, I think this is also what is fueling the price..
A proposed JV manufacturing Pharmaceutical plant with Chinese firms in the Lagos Free trade zone..

https://stocksng.com/fidson-signs-partnership-agreement-with-3-chinese-firms-to-tackle-hiv-in-africa/

They ve been trying to carry out heavy capital Investment that will begin yielding value to investors btwn 2-5yrs.
However, I don't also think it will get to 3.3 In the near term of 1yr+(ceteris paribus).

From OS, to critical needs, brand, consistent dividend and now almost the defacto leader in the industry on NGX with wide regional coverage with GSK exit, amongst others goodwills may keep it at +-30% within the year.

There will always be exceptions to every method.

But they are all welcomed and have been proven in some stocks.
Just my opinion.

I think if we divide the price it was listed on NGX by 5, we will have the price after the bonus.

It appears the stock has not really moved. so those selling now are more like in loss position or at most a 10% gain.

It seems to be trading far below the listed price whch should be around N50 if converted but people are picking it at N40.5 now.

This is cheap now considering they are in profit

There is too much inertia working against its momentum because of the 100,000 requirement. A split of Seplat shares will reduce it’s ‘weight’ and by extension the inertia working against its motion.

Exactly my submission.
Na For countries wey get 24hrs/day, Average of 300/360 days of electricity per year. Not Africa yet. even at that, I think to power Manufacturing Equipments to meet their high capacity and efficiency, you just need fossil fuel--Coal, diesel, petrol, Gas, kero, etc.

Rnewables of Solar, Wind, biowaste are niche specific and tailored to particular equipments..not flexible for dynamic situations.
