Money Has A Way Of Revealing The Ugliness Of Humans. by Emmanuel900(op): 8:21am On Oct 01, 2024
Money has a way of revealing the ugliness of humans.

A colleague of mine who is an engineer, helped his girlfriend get an interior decoration work with our organization, and after she made money, she dumped him.

She made over 3million naira profit for a job she did in a month. That's her boyfriend's salary in a year and some months.

The things is, she went to an interior decoration school in Lagos, and improved her skills by following architects in Lagos.

As the brain behind the design, I had wanted to recommend someone, since I can't collect contract as a staff.

It was one of the smallest projects, and of course, it was easy to consider a Nigerian for its furnishing.

He approached me and begged me not to give a negative criticism of her status when she arrives for an interview:

"Guy, I wan marry this girl, and the mama even sabi me. I wan propose next month.

Guy anything you fit do -- I know say you get person, but please."

It was an opportunity for him to prove he wanted her progress.

I helped when the boss told me the idea of trying her. Because I wanted a brother's happiness, I covered up her lapses any time the boss asked me what I thought about her.

The project was in PH, and it was the only design I had done for the organisation there.

After the project, she told him her profit, and said "thank you."

She ended the call abruptly, and sent him a text never to call her again. He was hiding it from me, because it would make him look stupid, until another female colleague told me.

"No wonder I you've been avoiding me," I told him.

Then, I saw a man nearly weeping. After showing me a text where she told him never to call her again, he showed me her other text message, and it was this:

" Thank you for everything. I can't continue dating you. You can't even enter flight to visit me in lagos. Since I relocated to lagos 4months ago, I've checked it. You're not the guy for me so find another girl."

I gave him a deep hug.

My female colleague hugged him too.

I gave the lady a call afterwards, and she sincerely told me she could no longer date someone like him.

"Please, is there something he did?" I asked.

" No A. I just can't date someone I earn more than. You know say I no go fit tell am this. I still like him o. But I have eyes on better people. This is the first time I am making up to a million and I appreciate him for that. I don send am 100k sha. Send me your account number too."

" Are you really pulling his legs or what?" I asked.

" I am being true to myself," she replied.

The saddest part of it all?

The fact that they've been on many lovey dovey calls before this happened.

As I am typing this, the young man is in the hospital. His blood pressure was triggered.

On my way out of the ward, I remembered he sends her 40% of his salary every month. He even handled a certain personal project, and sent her 600k a certain time.

Honestly, he's the type of Boyfriend that deserves a medal. He's having a rough time now and hasn't sent her money in two months. Could this be the reason?

I think some humans don't even deserve hell -- the Devil's punishment will be too mild for them -- if it exists. There should be another place for more terrible humans.

In all your dealings, try to surround yourself with kind people. Sometimes, ask God to reveal the true nature of that person you're dating.

May we never make sacrifices for people who are undeserving of it.

May we never encounter heartless people in the guise of living their truth.

May we never build fruitless foundations. 🙏

Because of 3million...

What if she sees 20 million. What would she do. Slap Tinubu?

I don't believe your story though. But these kind of things happen everyday.

I always say you can never know a person's true character until they have money. Especially those coming from a limited background!

I don't know how it's so easy for some women/men to do this sha.
Re: Money Has A Way Of Revealing The Ugliness Of Humans. by Nobody:
Lol... That's a hard lesson for him to learn from. People used to poverty ( well not all) most people used to poverty and suddenly stumbled upon success which is just another man's tithe always display their true colours women especially but men are no exception. I have seen friends turn, girlfriends turn because they feel they are in positions to control things better due to their new financial status.

Some don't even earn that much but just the sudden change and the amount that comes in once every month seems so big in their heads they begin to display their true nature. It's just how life is. Money will show U who is for U, with U or against U. It exposes the nature... True nature. That's why it pays to be smart. If he was he would have known passing such an opportunity to any woman is risky.

What he would have done is take the opportunity himself as an engineer and put her in charge of management. Possibly a written agreement. Better still front someone who she will work under and the bulk of the proceeds will still come to him but unknown to her. Watch how she handles herself and with every other job she gets unknown to her she's working for him. And when she eventually pulls the dumb stunt to dump him, he dumps her or simply replaces her service with that of another since she's working for him. Everything legally backed in written document.
These things happen too much for men to not be any wiser till now. These are old tricks women play and should be treated with updated countering.

Fake. story lol,

Not that these things do not happen, but this particular one gan gan is fake.

Btw, me think that everyone dating other imperfect beings (aka humans) should have it at the back of their head that they can be dumped for the most stupid thing.

I personally know a distant relative that left a perfect guy just because he has an Igbo accent. That the way he speaks English is too igbotic.

I begin wonder, how should an Igbo man speak English again? The same girl is not even educated herself, one kind religious, short babe like that.

This happened fifteen years ago sha, and sadly, she is still single and unmarried and of course, desperate to the core.

So if a good man can be dumped for something as flimsy as accent, then hypergamy is even better. If she was earning high before she met you, she won't look at you.

Anyways welcome to life. These are the kinds of things God saw that made him regretted creating humans. The casual wickedness, and treating others in such a way we won't accept.

Sorry. Ndo. Pele

Money does not change people. It magnifies who they are. If they are kind, they simply have more to be kind with and vice-versa.

I blame the guy and other Nigerian men who think that putting women on pedestals is a gesture for which women would agree to be with them.

Women have proven over the years that no matter what you do for them, their selfish interests comes first. Men too should learn how to put themselves first and stop giving our women the entitlement mentality they currently have.

Strong agree. Money amplifies whatever you have in your heart already.

A man I know, married a lady who came from money (even his trad clothes were bought by her family). His family, his wife and his in-laws supported him for years. But this man was telling his friends and his mother how useless and unsupportive his wife was.

He eventually got a great job. The arrogance and ego that had been hidden somewhat came roaring out and suddenly, his wife was an "evil wit.ch" and that man ended his marriage. He's living it up now with women whom are "his class and level".

Nothing he did was shocking, if anyone had paid attention to his true character. Because you see, lack of money just made him "humble". Every petty slight and grudge (real and implied) he ever held over the years, he poured it on his wife venomously. Even his kids were not spared.

He's the king of the 💩 hill. For now.

There are several stories like this. I've seen the end of 4 such stories: all men in their 60s/70s, extremely lonely. P

Who knew that treating your wife and kids badly for women who love your money would be such a bad idea /s undecided

My friend came from money, but didn't have any when he relocated. Now, he's wealthy but money hasn't changed him, he enjoys the good life but feels no need to destroy his wife's life and is even helping others where he can. Money didn't suddenly have him realising he could date a 27 yr old, in his 40s.

When I got some money, I bought nice things but I didn't suddenly realise I was better than my friends or family, I certainly wouldn't have felt the need to upgrade the man that stood by me when I was jumping bus.

My cousin and her husband became right-hand people to a Governor and his wife. All of a sudden, "what's up, how are you, greet your mum" became a message that she would reply 2 weeks later. Now the Govenor has left office (and didn't enter Senate House), she's suddenly following me on IG and liking my pictures. Foolish me forgot what she did and returned the gesture. Allow me to be petty and unfollow and block her arse cheesy

You're right but let me just point out to you that most men don't feel lonely at old age like some of you ladies say.

Men generally get little or no care from anyone all our lives, so we grow used to sorting ourselves out. We make ourselves happy in our own ways and by the time we are old we would have gotten used being on our own. I don't know why some of you like threatening men with loneliness at old age as if we all don't know how men live their lives.

Quick question:

How old are you?

Because, you see, I'm old. By every metric globally, I cannot be called anything other than middle-aged. If you met me in real life, you wouldn't call me "you ladies", you'd address me as "ma". smiley

So when I say "there will be loneliness in the future should you tread down this path and no amount of finding ways to make yourself happy will fill that void"...

...I am speaking of my classmates, friends and much older immediate male relatives whom have all expressed these thoughts and emotions to me.

Even women get lonely in old age, but because we are social creatures, we find one church to join, one cultural meeting to spear-head, one omugwo to do forever. So we're fine.

Men aren't socialised like that. And they never learn it until it's too late to change. Literally, I watched those men sit in their houses and attend burials and regret inwardly and then try and fix issues that should have been fixed 20, 30, 40, 50 years ago.

Some did. Others didn't.

It's why I always say "take the podcast mics from the current crop of guys handling them and hand it over to men in their 70s, if you want a cold splash of water to your face".

But, if you feel that you can see the future clearer than someone already in that era, sure.

People like to learn the hard way. That's why we still have addicts till tomorrow.

This right here is one of the most AWFUL AND HORRIBLE LIES Podcast Bros have sold to the younger generation.

Statistically, Married Men outlive Single Men. Go and check.

Anecdotally, let me give y'all 2 real-life stories.

1. My classmate was single and lived with his younger ones. He went to the bathroom at night, had a heart attack. He tried to contact someone but only reached his cousin who lived 3 streets away. His siblings heard music in the bathroom all night long yet didn't go and check. He died in agony after 8 hours of being alone in the bathroom, on the floor. Imagine your last hours of life like that.

No wife will wake up at night, see her husband hasn't come back from the bathroom and not go and check. It's why in Marriage Counselling (and Old men) tell couples to not have separate bedrooms as they get older.

2. My Uncle was out there, cheating happily in a hotel. He had a heart attack. Side whor.e panicked and left him there, because she didn't want to get implicated in a police wahala. She locked him in the hotel room till the next day. He died long and painfully.

His wife would have at least tried to carry him to the hospital on the next street from his house, had he been home where he belonged.

Final story, a good one:

My friend's older friend is separated from his wife. During COVID lockdown, he got a bad case of malaria and was at home, alone. He nearly died. His cleaner decided to come and check on Oga and found him unconscious. He called the side chic he knew and that one switched off her phone. The cleaner then ran around the estate and a neighbour had the Ex-Wife's number. That sweet, forgiving lady showed up at the hospital and didn't leave her ex-husband's side till he recovered. The man asked his ex-wife to take him home and once they got there, she made to leave. He told the estate security to come and help him lock his gate and told his ex-wife: "I am NOT a fool".

He hasn't stopped begging and apologising and loving her till now. She has forgiven him and moved back home. Even when she said "e don do", the man still apologises. For the years of his stupidity and his ego and his lack of discipline.

Married Men live longer than Single Men because there are people who care about them.

Period.

You have forgotten the balanced diet that a wife provides, and how she checks if he has taken his medicine, and how she makes sure he doesn’t drink too much and gets enough sleep.

Money is useful but has its' place.

And it should NEVER change you or bring out your worst side.

The Book Of Ecclesiastes in the Bible is literally King Solomon, one of the richest, most powerful men of the old world, with all the beautiful women at his feet and sycophants around him, saying:

"All Life is vanity without God".

If he could see it, why should money give you power and your first thought is to "upgrade" your man/woman and check to see if the grass is greener outside?

It never is.

Or is your money long like King Solomon's?

Oh, sorry ma if you felt offended by my initial "the you ladies" comment.

I wouldn't doubt you if you say that you have men around you who complain of loneliness in their old age but I can assure you that they're in the minority. The world is generally cold to men leaving us with no choice than to battle it out alone right from childhood to old age. By the time we're old, most of us have gotten used to sorting out things by ourselves and not being needy.

In a nutshell, most men would not complain to anyone that they're lonely at old age, instead they find ways to make themselves happy. It is not about women being more social like you said but it's about the fact that most men get abandoned by even the ones they worked hard to cater for when they were still working.

I have zero sympathy for full adult simps. He sent her 40% of his salary and he had once sent her 600k. He also got her a contract that paid her 3million in profit. All that, how many did he do for his male friends? Has he ever sent his own mother or sister 600k? You think his ancestors are not behind his current illness. Let him go and die. His demise will be a lesson to other idiots. You that visit him in hospital should be careful too before the curse that follows him follows you.
