In Nigeria, majority of the roads are good. Nigeria has low unemployment rate, constant electricity, clean environment and top-notch water supply system. Nigerian workers/employees are guaranteed to receive their salaries at the end of every month. The one I love the most about Nigeria is that the government loves her people so much that they rise up to squash any breakdown in internal security. Nigeria is El Dorado!

Nigeria has many naira billionaires. AMCON list? What a joke! Nigerians do not use credit facilities. They have so much money that World Bank is borrowing from them. Dangote is worth about $12b and building a refinery worth of $13b. Of course, he sold everything he has and is using all his cash to do the project. Losers are always on the look out for what will soothe their misery --Hudoe is doing a good job at providing them

What is the cost of a used 2005 Toyota Corolla in America? Let's say about $4k. For a minimum wage earner in the US who works only 40 hours per week, it will take him about 4-5 months to buy the car with his whole salary.
In Nigeria, the same car probably costs about ₦1-1.4m. It will take a minimum wage earner in Nigeria about 3 years to buy the same car if he's to save up all his salary.

Americans and people from other developed world live on credit because they acquire the best quality (often newest) products. Some of them can't afford such if you ask them to pay cash, but their counterparts in Nigeria can't even dream of them in the first place.
A brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is around $1k. An average US worker can afford to buy the phone with one salary and still have enough change to sort out his rent and other stuff. How many average Nigerian workers can afford to buy a phone of about 360k from one salary? Absolutely NONE! The credit system in the western world means they don't have to pay for everything cash, but can pay in bits over some years still leaving enough cash to sort out other pressing needs.

In terms of housing, the quality of residential houses in Nigeria that can remotely be compared to the average American or European houses are probably the houses in high brow areas in Abuja, Lagos and other big cities in Nigeria. How many average Nigerian workers can afford to live there? Even junior doctors who work in government hospitals in Nigeria can't afford to rent 3 bedroom flats in Maitama, Wuse, Asokoro etc, yet these are some of the top 20% highest earning Nigerian workers.

The fact is that compared to the quality of life in the developed world, many Nigerians are not even living.

Lol the problem with you people is that you seem to generalize things. An American can visit ikoyi or banana island in Lagos and go back to tell his people Nigeria isn't that bad, people are living good. Another can land in makoko, mile 12 or ikotun or even nassarawa and maiduguri and go back to tell his people Nigeria is a very dirty country filled with filth and poverty and also filled with bandits and dry land.. Majek was probably at the wrong place at the wrong time . See everywhere can't be good, in any country on Earth, everywhere can't be 100% perfect. So always learn to see different perspectives before passing judgments. You can go to Michigan and come back to naija and say America is a poor country filled beggars and the media is just hyping them. Another person can travel to Las Vegas , Florida, Chicago or newyork and come back to give testimonies of how America is a beautiful country filled with sky scrappers and buildings towering into the heavens. It just depends on how we view things.

Not every one enjoys a better standard than us. That only applies to the highly or moderate educated Americans. Poor and non college educated Americans have poor standard of living. Many Nigerians who go and are unable to work with their certificates have really tough lives. I know some people (graduates from Nigeria ) that do 2 to 3 jobs just to survive. One told me, 4 of them rented a self contain apartment, because the monthly rent for a self contains is as expensive as a yearly rent in a 3 bedroom apartment in a suburb in Lagos.

Which amenities are you talking about? Maybe you have not left the shores of naija to the western world. There are homeless people with no amenities whatsoever littering the streets of London and Los Angeles that beg to eat.

Basic Amenities such as reliable power supply, adequate infrastructure, sanitation, decent roads etc. no African country actually has basic amenities for their masses, even the high brow areas of Africa tend to have third world conditions like intermittent power supply, starving kids on the street, bad roads etc.

Relative to Africa, There is no poverty in the West. Even the poorest people in the western world live better than most of the world. The US alone spends over $1.4 trillion on social security for its citizens. Europe has an even more generous welfare programs. They actually take care of the disadvantaged in the west or at least much better than the rest of the world does. The homeless advantaged in the US, UK etc are offered benefits that you will never find in any African country. They are in a modern and advanced country.

Afrocentrism is an absolute joke and Africa is a big mistake to humankind.

Heck I rarely ever lived in Nigeria and I’m in one the high brow areas of Lagos right now and it’s still like a third world country. Even being affluent in Nigeria or Africa still sucks as those parts have third world conditions. The affluent areas of Lagos like Ikoyi, Via, Banana Island etc still have third world conditions like naked kids begging for money on the street, poor sanitation, bad roads, intermittent power supply, terrible drivers, lawlessness etc
