This Is What I'm Doing to Save Money — What About You?
1. I have uninstalled my main WhatsApp because it has become a serious money drainer. Only my business WhatsApp is available.

2. I've initiated conflicts with all my female besties, so we’re currently not in good terms = no "I don't have data or I want to come over." Coming over makes me spend on TP and food in exchange for "just sex", where I'll still be the one to do 80% of the hard work and might still end up contracting infection where I'll spend a lot to get out of it.

The day I almost killed someone's daughter because of "harder harder" was the day I promised God I won't have anything to do with women again, because there is no benefit, but few months later...

3. Due to the rise in counterfeit products causing serious health issues like kidney failure, cancer, etc. I have used it as a tangible excuse to stop purchasing 95% of factory-made goods or edibles that were preserved with chemicals.

The carton of Superpack noodles and crates of eggs that I used to buy monthly for visitors has stopped. No more visitors except the konji is unbearable—which I can also control.

4. I used to spend over ₦12,000+ every month on DStv, but I've miraculously stopped it. With the free and steady electricity here, I don't even bother turning off the lights or electronics, even during heavy thunderstorms.

Thankfully, after years of leaving my TV on, a thunderstorm finally destroyed it, and I couldn’t be happier—one liability gone.

No more Premier League, Champions League, NatGeo Wild, or music channels—I've freed myself from this addiction, and now I'm saving on the monthly subscription.

5. I no longer need to visit the hospital—I've been exercising regularly (as I have always done) and relying on natural beverages and herbs that cure almost everything. Nature and exercise hold the answers to good health.

6. The Cway water I used to buy, I filter mine myself now.

7. Dressing simple while going out and acting as if say na my own worse pass just to avoid people thinking you're their last hope. They've done it to me a lot and I no longer find it funny.

This lifestyle can still be funded if I want, but sometimes, it's not about what you want, but "what is necessary" to make sure you don't get mocked one day by those you helped.

All the money that used to go into these expenses, along with some other unmentioned ones, is now directed into more investments.

Although my 40-80GB monthly data subscription can't be stopped, it's a necessity to monitor my digital investments, enjoy YouTube tutorials and watch some comedy/football highlights when I'm bored.

Now, my focus is just on data, food, and investment (online and offline).

So, what changes have you also made? Mind you, this hard time or recession is not only affecting Nigeria, but lots of developed countries too.

Noted in my own case,
I have sold my car that was draining my pocket,
Packed my 2 generator
Removed my gotv antenna and sold it to aboki.
Sleeping naked to avoid heat, cause I use prepaid.
No more rice and beans together.
Bag of garri to rescue my children from afternoon indomie.
We will survive

Good move! APC's regime came with lots of suffering and regrets, but the lessons people will learn in financial management, family planning, and investment from experience, no book will be able to teach them that.

In fact, when APC's reign is over, every Nigerian will become qualified authors because whatever book they write on how to survive, raise a family, invest, etc. will be based on experience—no copy and paste.

As we face this hardship, let's have journals where we write some things down before they escape our memories for future generations to read. Most of our histories as Africans are not documented. If they were, most of us will reject foreign religions because of their atrocities—just like the atrocities of APC. But, we're already deep into it, so let's just enjoy it as we find ways to wiggle out of it.

Anyway, I love your moves.

A Man doesn't really change, he adjusts to situations because of consequences. If that situation changes and consequences removed, he readjusts.

It's worse with women. They never change or adjust — they just pretend until they're tired of pretending. cheesy This is why a woman's family's background and her past matter the most if you must be with her for life. Women don't care about consequences — it's not in their DNA. They feel they'll always be forgiven because they're women.

I planted this some weeks ago. They said it gives lots of blood. When I cooked it, it really looked like blood. You may try it.

Modified:

More info about it below. It's called lots of names, but the scientific name is Justicia Secunda.

Write a list of

1. Things people MUST use/do/buy everyday, whether they like it or not.
2. Things people MUST use/do/buy every week, whether they like it or not.
3. Things people MUST use/do/buy every month, whether they like it or not.

That is where the money is for offline.

For online, it's digital products, monetized social media channels/sites/courses/ads, stock, forex and crypto.

I'm not saying that's what I do, I'm just giving you food for thought so you can do some research.

Hint: for number 1 above: Soap must be used everyday. House/room/mattress must be used everyday (land and real estate). Clothes must be worn everyday (except you hardly go out). Water must be drank or used everyday, etc.

I need to follow suit.

I do my own exercise by walking when I need to. thanks to my phone and that health app that keeps trying to monitor my running and my working ..

it counts my footsteps and gives me a daily goal ..

So no be everywhere I dey go I dey carry transport .. I dey waka now..

kindest has helped to cut cost too ..

Thanks to my ability to adamantly say no to girls, I don't spend on them except when I want to ..

I need not worry about cutting cost on that aspect. Luckily, they don't keep the coochie far away from . I still get it alot ..

I just realized I've never given a girl tfare though ..

Nice thread.
Started barbing myself.
Skipped driving everywhere, anywhere close I walk.
Also dropped processed food and drinks to embrace more natural healthier and cheaper options.
Minimized hanging out with friends in the evenings. I can go a month without hanging out with anyone
Minimized giveaways, people only reach out more because of what they can get. If there’s nothing to get, they won’t even call to say hi

1. I don't go for unnecessary outings

2. Presently I don't have a girlfriend, though many people don't believe (I be fine boy and I thank God for that)

3 My meal for breakfast is what I warm for lunch, only at night I take something light.

4. I ghost many people, all those friends that turn my house to Mecca every Sunday, after eating lunch we would go to take one or two bottles all bills on me (at least four guys and two babes). That one no dey again

5. I no longer do cable subscription, my phone is my news source, I love Nat Geo wild and CBS too, these days my phone is my cable TV when I am bored and tired of phone, I play FIFA. (Thank God NEPA don dey give steady light now, so gen is out of it)

6. I no longer post anything on my WhatsApp status. I realized that anytime I posted, one or two people know I am active and they use that opportunity to bill me.

The only people wey no complain about this regime are people stealing money, either politicians, civil servants, and/or private employees who know their ways of stealing their company's money.

We need to adjust so many things as we no fit fight back.

Re: This Is What I'm Doing To Save Money — What About You? by iLegendd(op):
Here is the plant. I'm even cooking small to drink as I type. But quantity is where the deal is.

I just did a Google search just now and noticed someone had asked a question about it on Nairaland in 2018. In the link below, I know only of the first image, the green one. The second one, I know it, but didn't know it also gives blood.

See, every we need to live 100 years, nature gave it for free, but the pharmaceutical industry will never want you to know, yet all the medicines is from this same nature and herb.

Re: This Is What I'm Doing To Save Money — What About You? by iLegendd(op):
Here is the outcome.

When it's boiling (5-15 mins) it won't change color—it'll be yellowish. Turn your cooker off and let it cool for 15-20 mins and the color will come out.

People even cook with the leaf. The more leaf, the thicker and powerful the blood medicine becomes. Mine is just small to show you example. It's tasteless and odourless—tastes just like normal water (tasteless).

It colors blood, it's stays blood, it becomes blood in your body. You can even turn it to your normal drinking water.

Images refused to upload. I'll try again.

Re: This Is What I'm Doing To Save Money — What About You? by iLegendd(op):
Complicated name because it seems another leaf/plant is dragging the name.

https://www.modernghana.com/news/996826/justicia-carnea-blood-boosting-green-plant-that.html

Justicia secunda — Scientific name.
But most people mistakenly call it Justicia carnea.

Other names

Jacobinia
Flamingo plant
Brazilian plume
Brudu Wiri in Suriname
Ogwu Obara in Nigeria (Igbo)
Blood of Jesus in Nigeria
Sangria plant in Florida (USA)
Blood Root in Barbados
King's crown, etc.

Put in hot water or cook for 5-15 minutes. Allow to cool down so it can change color properly for 15 minutes or more.

Ants, animals, insects, humans, etc. love the plant. So, expect pests trying to eat everything because they're addicted to it and its health benefits.

Must watch 3 minutes video about what it gives or cures.
