It shows you how insensitive the government is to her people's welfare. Others are already talking of how much they are going to pay, here if going by the news is waiting for template that has been largely circulated since late last Month.

Some of us are good with dragging you fellow teachers. You strength lies on innocent people that are not the cause of your problem.
You can carry it on your head like say tomorrow no dey.

Now you won't have mouth to drag the government on the media platforms. Ask them why they are quite about the minimum wage while smaller states are are even paying more than 70k.

Let me hear you make noise here again.
Mtweeeeeeee, nonsense

MINIMUM WAGE AT THE STATES

1. Kogi State N72,500.00
2. Ondo State N73,000.00
3. Ogun State. N77,000.00 The Latest for now
WHICH STATE IS NEXT?

BREAKING NEWS FOR OGUN WORKERS:

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved the sum of N77,000 as the minimum wage for the lowest worker in the state, and the payment takes immediate effect.

This decision was revealed after a meeting of the state government led by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, and the leadership of the organized labour in Ogun State, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), to discuss the implementation of the new minimum wage.

The secretary to the state government said the meeting was at the instance of Governor Abiodun who he stated has directed that no worker in the state should earn less than N77,000 starting from the month of October.

He stated that the governor means well for the people of the state and has proactively taken steps to further ameliorate the suffering of the people.

According to him, Governor Dapo has also advised the organized private sector to take a cue from the policy, as their workers are not exempt from the economic realities in the country, to improve the living standards of people in the state holistically.

The SSG also noted that the governor has therefore advised that the private sector should dialogue with their relevant stakeholders to arrive at a commensurate minimum wage for the sector while he will set up a monitoring team to see how it is implemented by the private sector to ensure no one is short-changed.

On his part, the NLC chairman in Ogun State, Chairman, Hameed Benco, said the organised labour in the state is very pleased that the Governor has approved N77,000 as minimum wage in consultation with labour leaders, noting that is the highest in the country.

Benco said that some states that have implemented the new minimum wage are paying N70,000, while some pay N70,250 or less, adding that the other sectorial salaries will be affected accordingly.

He also mentioned that the government has graciously approved the submission of labour and that the new basic salary should not be taxed.

In the same vein, Akeem Lasisi of the TUC and his counterpart, Isa Olude of the JNC, commended the government for being worker-friendly.

They noted that consequential adjustments for pensioners and other matters will be announced after due consultation with the relevant stakeholders.

In his reaction, the Ogun State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, said the approval of the generous minimum wage for workers underscores the responsiveness and sensitivity of the governor and the government to the plight of the workers and the general populace of the state.

GOV. FUBARA APPROVES N85,000 MINIMUM WAGE FOR RIVERS WORKERS

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara , has on Friday approved Eighty-Five Thousand Naira (N85,000) as the new minimum wage for civil servants in the State.

Gov. Fubara disclosed this during an audience with Labour Unions under the auspices of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council in Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday.

Addressing newsmen shortly after an audience with the governor, the Chairman of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, Comrade Emecheta Braide Chukwu noted that the meeting which anchored on the new national minimum wage as approved by the federal government of Nigeria was rewarding as the governor graciously approved the sum of N85,000 as the new minimum wage in Rivers State.

He described Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a compassionate, loving, and kind leader who feels the pains of the people, as he has demonstrated in action his mantra of placing the interest of Rivers State first, adding that despite distractions and the downturns, he has approved a robust minimum wage of N85,000 for the workers.

"Today, His Excellency, Governor of Rivers State, our own member of the civil service has pronounced that he is going to pay Rivers civil servants N85,000 minimum wage."

"He is a man that has placed Rivers State first above every other interest. He is a man that grew through the rank and file of the system. He knows what salary is, and he has demonstrated it this afternoon. I must tell you our heart is full of joy."

Comrade Chukwu pointed out that as members of the organized labor and the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, the umbrella body that negotiates salary for the welfare of civil servants, they will report back the good news to the workers at the Secretariat.

"He has done it before, he has done it again. We are looking forward to December when he will do more."

He noted that the effective date for the commencement of the new minimum wage in the State will be in November due to the salary chart that will be developed.

"You know what was brought from the national was very empty and it was nothing to write home about. So, if we rely on it for implementation we will end up getting nothing. So we are going to set up a technical committee arising from this meeting to make sure that by next month when the new salary will be paid, it will reflect the real salary."

That's the nature of man ; it's normal. If you don't do the right thing at the expected time, people will raise eyebrows. I for one was unhappy when I heard he was still waiting for template.
Now I feel good. Governor Fubara is doing great. Long may this continue.

Did you know other States enjoyed extra 30,000 naira for six months before kicking off minimum wage? Did SIM pay you that money?

The 30k was an order from federal government an the money was disbursed to the states, if rivers state has paid us 30k for six months 30×6=180k, therefore rivers state government took our 80k and gave us just 100k and you're happy about it and clapping hands for politicians that don't give a damn about you.

It's a pity!

Have it at the b k of your mind that the Nigerian government in kuding rivers state don't give a damn about you, at any opportunity they steal from and cheat you badly.
Even that 100k we had to protest before they paid everyone they wanted to steal the money by paying a few and abandoning the majority.

Olease be wise OK!

When I see and read how people praise politicians who don't care about them, I just wonder, it doesn't bother you that federal government gave states money to pay palliative which accrued to 180k but you got 100k and are happy.
Seriously I am disappointed.
No politician should be given a breathing space because they will use it to steal.
Hold them by the balls and force them to do the right thing at the right time.

You sound like an ingrate, if Sim decides not to pay or pays the exact amount approved, you wouldn't have done anything. We were in this state for 8years someone refused to implement minimum wage, neither did he promote workers rather he told workers to their face that they weren't entitled to it. Sometimes let's tone down this entitlement mentality and appreciate the little only then will more come

First of all ị am not an ingrate, I am entitled to my rights as a civil servant, it is not a privilege but a right to get whatever benefits accrued to me by government.

Sim can never in his life decide not to pay or pay lesser than federal government approved minimum wage, he himself knows the consequences is dare.

That someone is Nyesom wike since you're so afraid to call his name, well what is his relevance today in rivers state politics? His reward will be swift on him.

I am disappointed and ashamed that you think it is an entitlement mentality to demand for your right from government.

Chai Heaven forbid bad thing!
You don't know your right.

Why don't you care that you're constantly being cheated by government, yet you praise them continuously when they give you icing instead of the whole cake that is rightfully yours?

I will never understand this.
