Pro's in the house
lets say you technically have 100k per month to invest in stocks
what strategy is best

buying multiple stocks and increasing them gradually each month
or focus on a single stock per month?
According to Warren B.: “(Wide) Diversification is protection against ignorance. It makes little sense if you know what you are doing.”

It will depend on your investment goals. Are you looking for long term growth or short term growth? Do you want dividends?

Yes I would love to have dividends
and also capital appreciation
Long term investments is my main goal
but no one would say no to short term with profits

Wow. That's good. That will now translate to 440 eps post - reconstruction.
If that is correct, we might get #2 final dividend grin

This is a definition of a good result. Improved profitability and liquidity, unlike some results with paper profit and declined liquidity.

Instead of thinking or assuming, why don't you divide the PAT by either 10 billion or 40 billion and see what you will get?

divide the profit after tax by the outstanding shares ad see the eps you get.
But I wish they did it with the 40billion. Na better money e go be.
Eps for the 9months should be like 7.5 naira. Still very good

Transcorp has a way of confusing people.
Should the PAT be profit for the period or profit attributable to owner of the parent huh grin

even that note is made to confuse.
If you use 40billion to calculate the eps you may not get up to 2naira as eps.
If they actually used 40billion to do the calculation then using 10billiin we should have like 44naira as eps. That would be wonderful. Buy no be so...

this result is for end September 30th 2024,and as of that date the shares is still 40billion
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by phadriz(m): 11:31am On Oct 28, 2024
We need to understand that the Trancorp Q3 account is as at 30th September and the reconstruction happened in October 2024. It will be a misrepresentation if 10b equity was used. This is a good example of transparency in the management

@Ucheson2, I noticed improvement in NPF MFB's q3 2024 result. Moreover, they seem to be more consistent with numbers this year than in the past. I need to see their audited 2024 as well as q1 2025 results to be able to make a proper decision about the coy.

https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/42392_NPF_MICROFINANCE_BANK_PLC-_QUARTER_3_-_FINANCIAL_STATEMENT_FOR_2024_FINANCIAL_STATEMENTS_OCTOBER_2024.pdf

ucheson2:
beloved @talk2me2, apologies for delayed response I have been very busy lately.

Yes, I also saw the consistency in their numbers, but we cannot trust any number coming from NPF MFB until their audited account is confirmed by their regulator the CBN.

'IMPROVEMENT' grin
Judging from were they are coming from, I mean for a company that it's q1 and q2 results showed negative growths, flat result in q3 can be considered as improvement.

YoY 14% is just a flat result.
QoQ 33% is a slight improvement.

I classify this company as HOLD.

Cc: @Uchetoba
Consistency is a positive signal, anytime I notice consistency in number in a company's report especially a company that I know to be inconsistent in the past, I always believe that transformation has commenced. I think that the management of NPF Microfinance Bank are now taking their accountability more seriously than in the past.

I except more improvement in their subsequent results.

subsidiaries of transcorp that generates those figures are not fully owned by them.

so the non controlling interest are the co owners of their subisidiaries

e.g. Trans power is 51% transcorp and 49% others meaning of all the profit from the Transpower only 51% is owned by Trancorp
