1. I want to know if I can get a school that accepts below 5k down-payment with a convenient payment plan. If yes, can you recommend any? Yes, Teesside University, and others... You have to specify your course of interest.

2. I hope over 10yrs study gap won't affect my chances of getting admission. No it won't if you have an explanation for the study gap. I believe you have been working.

3. And lastly, will the maintenance increase for international students pose a serious financial implication on my application. You must add it to the living expenses.

Please I want to ask the following questions here and I will appreciate your response(s)

1. I have a study gap of about 17 years and I have only been able to get a reference letter for the most recent place I worked covering 2014- June 2024. If I can get a reference letter(no employment letter was given) to explain the remaining 7 years , what else can I do and will it affect the visa application? Reference letter is fine for the study gap.

2. I haven't been in employment since June 2024, will that be considered a gap too and what can I do about it. It's just few month, in as much you have a reference that cover upto june 2024, you will be good.

3. Can a court affidavit be used to explain study gap and how? I mean what kind of affidavit. You don't need an affidavit for study gap, work reference is fine.

Please I need the answers and suggestions as I will be send my visa application soon

So would a well detailed Cv coupled with employment/offer letters suffice for study gap? (10years study gap)

I can’t get reference letters from my past employers hence the question.

Also, my most recent employment ended August this year, so would an explanation be needed to that effect?

Please don’t use micro-finance banks rather use commercial banks for your POF

Again it advisable to use your parents accounts sometimes unless you have a business to back the huge sum of money in your account.

Someone was refused yesterday because he could not back it up and he was not even given benefit of doubt to be interviewed, he was refused straight, although UKVI picks randomly.


UKVI Picks randomly though and their decision can be rash sometimes. Please be careful

This is not a call for panic just advice on what I’ve heard why people were refused.

Offer letters/Employment letters are just fine!

No explanation is required for the 3 months you have not been in employment. The requirement is not for you to provide per second, per minute update of your employment status over the study gap period, showing significant engagement in the intervening period is fine.

Yes they would. Just ensure that they are properly organized so the information is clear enough for any caseworker to review and make a straightforward decision.

I graduated in 2016. Thereafter, I observed my mandatory national youth service program between month/year and month/year at --your ppa-- Upon completion of my national youth service, I started working with ---company name--- as a ---role--- from month/year to month/year. I later worked as ---role-- with ---company--- from month/year. I still work with this company now as --role-- till date.
The following supporting documents for these activities are hereby attached:
1. My NYSC certificate
2. Letter of recommendation from company
3. Payslips (if you have , if you don't no wahala)
4.. trainings/ certifcates

I hope the above explanation would be sufficient. If you need me to provide any other thing or explanation, I will be willing to do so.
