I'm not surprised by a man that act like a double mouth surd who once said jaiz bank was a glorified microfinance bank and change his mouth when the reality is about to be done on him that all his praised bank will be bloated above the numbers he once criticized.
I wondered what your investing values are, suddenly you are ok with the potential bloated figures of your praised bank just because you are in the train.. grin grin

As per ellahlakes old results, when you talk negative talk positives too, you will not die being objective. grin grin

Many people in that train knows the reasons they are their so no panic.... angry grin

We are praying for it to come less than 3 to load up...

The money in the balance sheet is enough to go round if the company liquidated today, so why the panic if you know what you are doing...
Why did 3 out of the 4 directors reduce their number of shares in the last one year.

However, it is good to see one of the substantial shareholders - Blackman & Co. Ltd - increase stakes. It is also good to see MBC securities springing up to take a 14% stake in the business.

Since number of shares in the year increased by 753,786,788 shares it means apart from MBC Securities that took a new 383,738,196 share position, most of the other new positions must have been taken by retail investors.

Is it fundamentals that moved Japaul from the previous 23k in less than 2 years ago to the current price of 230k (over 800% capital appreciation)? Japaul's stock price has been moving all this while based on sentiments. Let us get it right and set the record straight, it is NOT only fundamentals that moves the price of stocks in NGX. For example, if Japaul's journey into gold mine sees the light of the day, don't be suprised to see the price in the N4 region (even before they announce any financial result)

Again, is it fundamentals that moved Oando from N10 to N85 (over 600%) within 3 months, but sentiments and hope of a better future for the company based on the current information at our disposal. Again, Is it only stocks with fundamentals that Warren Buffet bought that gave him the fortunes he has now.?
The bolded is the REALITY that quite a lot of us have repeatedly said here but which our core FA Ogas will just not want to accept!

May take up more positions like the 1 in 4 directors or like 2 of the listed substantial shareholders. It will be good to watch the directors if they are selling more or buying more in the coming weeks, months and years. Profitability being a long term thing, some directors may sell now (or in prior year) and later buy in time ahead if price dips and they see (know) prospects.

A long term play.

I didn't reply this because we've had series of argument on similar subject, which again led to more arguments, attacks and insults, so I don't want to tread such path again, neither do I have strength to convince anyone self. 😁

One thing is that, even when financials of such perceived "bad" stocks improved, some Nsempas still don't want to hear about them, because to them, it was bad and had made them pay school fees in the past, they kept holding on to the past and don't want to hear about such stocks again.........if not for recent that few are changing their mindset and perspectives.

I get plenty examples, especially penny stocks and insurance stocks but like I said, I'm not interested in discussing such again.

Thanks for the above. These are the ways through which we scrutinize stocks and not by abusing and rubbishing the views of others.

On Ellah lakes issue, someone promised here sometime ago to visit their farm and report back to us and we are still waiting on that report. But in my own views, the palm oil business is not a business that yields returns in the first 5 years, in fact, an average palm tree reaches its peak of fruition from 8 years and above. Therefore, if Ellah Lakes is really into palm oil production like Presco and okomu oil, it will take Ellah lakes at least 5 years to start reaping the gains of palm oil business. That is also depending on when they actually planted the palm trees.

NB: I previously own about 70 acres palm tree plantation and personally bought the palm fruit seedlings from Okomu oil in Benin in 2015, planted it in 2016 and sold the plantation in 2023 due to security concern. Therefore, I know exactly what I am talking about.

Be careful when insiders become monkey hunters, with the purported growth potential of the business they ought to be buyers

Do you know the number of United Capital staff who got loan from UCap consumer finance to buy the company's stock at N12 and below. I know because I have been getting loan from them for the past 3 years

My brother, RETURN OF CAPITAL is better than RETURN ON CAPITAL, I simply sold when I heard that 2 diaspora members who own farm along the same axis in Osun State were kidnapped and ransom of about N40m paid for their release. Even before then, I hardly have time to visit the farm, infact I visited the farm thrice in 2 years and anytime I go there, I don't tell the farm managers and workers of my coming. The bolded is the reality of the present times in Nigeria.

What is the cost of one palm oil seedling? Let me assume ₦2,000 per seedling - that would amount to 48,100 palm trees. Is this something real, or is it just another 'audio' as usual, Oga Streetinvestor and Oga Emmanuelewumi? undecided

On CBO capital stake reduction, perhaps Olumide Akpata sold some of his stake to finance his Governorship aspiration.

I hope Ellah Lakes has good title and doesn't have nearby stakeholders that can constitute security threat to its progress.

Uncertainties like these will keep the stock price lower than intrinsic value which can only be clearer after many years.

Thank you for the beautiful reply, they believe Oando appreciated with fundamentals 😂, by the time Japaul announced the acquisition of 50 percent equity stake in H&H Mines and “a 100% acquisition of Covenant Gems & Gold Minerals Limited in Eti-oni, Atakumosa Local Government, Osun State, they will eat back their words. A company that got an investment of 20B naira equity in a private placement even at premium higher than listed price should not be written off. I repeat Japaul and ELLAHLAKES movement will be shocking.

I know that you are an investor that thrives with fundamentals, but someone like me and others here combines all the factors together to play the market and I am indeed proud of my achievement and give Glory to God, I am a trader and an investor at the same time, I simply applied different method suitable for every stock I buy.

To borrow the words of @bullbearmarket, everyone here should simply put on the table what he/she has to offer that has been rewarding him/her and let whoever DESIRES, act or discard it, after all, nobody is being paid here to suggest the stocks to buy, but we are all saying our mind based on the fact that we all want everyone to make it big in the stock market.

Good luck to each and everyone.

That is why we are advised to play the capital market with patient fund

If you are a buyer, you have the opportunity to buy more.

MBC was a creditor to ELLAHLAKES, they converted debt to equity. To me this is a sign of prospect, for a creditor who is vast in the capital market to accept debt to equity conversion, there must be an untapped gold in such company.

It is in 2 ways. Either the market value of each seedlings that have been planted or, that Ellah Lakes themselves are into production and sale of seedlings to farmers, therefore, they may realize the said amount if they sold those seedlings.
