Some insights on Sugar from https://punchng.com/fg-seeks-investment-in-africas-7bn-sugar-market/ The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of NSDC, Kamar Bakrin, said Nigeria’s annual sugar demand sits at approximately two million metric tonnes, valuing the local market at about $2bn, during a recent session with business editors in Lagos. The NSDC boss stressed that recent currency fluctuations have made local sugar production more competitive while presenting challenges for importers. The NSDC announced it has declared 2025 as ‘the year of acceleration’ for the sugar sector, committing to raising the necessary funding and supporting the entry of both local and global investors. “We are taking deliberate action to accelerate local production… Question now is when will Dangote Sugar have sufficient local raw sugar production and have excess for export to generate forex and excellent profits . |

The banks have been coming out with fantastic results since 2023. It is proper not to use their current EPS for valuation. One can use the average EPS for last 5 years or use the average return on equity in the last 5 years to get the normalized EPS. I prefer using normalized EPS. Average EPS might not give the true picture of things, the company might have issued bonus shares, done public offers, converted debts to equities or given stock options to the workers which might dilute the earnings. Why 5 years? The average business cycle is about 5 years To get normalized EPS, assuming the current Book Value Per Share is N100. The company's return on equity in the last 5 years are 20%, 25%, 30%, 35% and 40%. The average return on equity in the last 5 years will be 30%. 30% of the N100 ie the book value is N30. The normalized EPS will be N30, even though the current EPS for the year is N40 |

ositadima1:Nice one.we went in around the same price.i bought at 230 though I should have bought much.i didn't see oil marketing company making this kind profit because thr profit margins are usually small. This is why I didn't go into fuel station business Then coming to South I discovered it is bunkering fuel they sell most and making heavy gain. Total is making heavy money from other products besides pms since this inflation wahala |

Blaqq2:Your account is probably in DCS mode We've talked about this issue extensively here, more reason it's good to try and read past pages of this thread, it's rich with info if you can sieve thru it. Contact your broker to send DCS Form (Direct Cash Settlement Form) to you, fill and submit back to them for processing. Tell them you don't want Direct Cash Settlement. The fund you referred to will be paid by CSCS after T+3days. |

Blaqq2:Yes. Immediately in your portfolio anytime you make sales. On the DCS Form, indicate "NO" ......where you're asked if you want Direct Settlement. |

Locotrader:The one automatically out of DCS mode are set as default. Morgan for instance, used to open with NO DCS as default before, but now, it's somehow opened with DCS as default.......this may be connected to some CSCS rules possibly (not certain why it's so nowadays). |

Blaqq2:Lol. When reading, always have your pen and paper with you to jot down some things and also note the pages for reference. You can ask questions here for what you don't understand.......or be asking in an investment WhatsApp group if you can get to be added to one. |

yMcy56:They told me cscs did an update recently. Dcs used to be default before but now no more.Maybe during account opening with cscs, brokers opt it out for clients. Bunmi from Atlas portfolio summoned me when I asked her about Dcs form. She said, no need because I am not a Dcs client. |
