I have never looked at my betnaija results in the past.i did not equally buy it based on results. I bought strickly on the name T associated to balablu. That said, based on the 2023 results. I will not say it is a bad results. I will rather say it is a company working hard to turn things around for good if the results reflect I true position of the company and not manipulated.I don't trust wale and anything associated with T family.
And manipulation of results is very possible in naija because we are just corrupt whether from small firm or big firm.It is only avoidable if it not initiated by management. It is happening in banks even with big audit firms handling thr books.

I will not talk much about 2023 results because q3 is supposed to give the latest position on oando. Is oando heading for the rock or going to close shope.I beg to disagree. Thr is something the banks saw to restructure thr loans and new lending to come in which I agree with osita .

On another note I am most disappointed in sugar q3 results than oando 23 results because q3 of sugar is the latest position of things in the company. And alhaji is not showing a way out or forward like oando. If thr is WAYO in results so far.Alhaji played game with sugar results by eating all the revenue via cost of sales. How can he claim this inefficiency in a business he has been all his life.
Finally let oando q3 come and show the latest position of things which I believe will be of big improvement. I hope they don't equally disappoint me like sugar q3 that I was so sure of improvement

It seems like you bend things to suit your view when it’s convenient. Banks are investors. A company obtains funding in two ways: debt and equity, and both are forms of invested capital.
@the bolded. Correct, I agree.
Both are Forms of Invested capital to both the Company and Shareholders.
But to the bank I don't think so. it's not invested capital. It's a debt that must be paid back according to the agreed structure.
otherwise court-case. grin grin

I don't think I agree with this.

1)Deducting from u guys argument, Banks are generally assumed to be lenders unless categorically stated as investors and even if so, such banks should also be found in the shareholding structure of companies I think(at least as an Influential shareholders if not Major shareholders)

2) Banks return as company lenders are guaranteed through collateral.
(worst case)

Investors return isn't guaranteed.(worse case)

I believe you know all these. You are just pulling legs grin grin
Terminology can be tricky, but defaults are real, even with collateral. A bank won’t lend money if it senses issues with collecting interest payments—are you aware of this?

If Oando is a religion, there's little wonder you are one of it's adherents otherwise why would you devote so much time and energy. Let go.
A typical religion has adherents, dogmas, and those who challenge the doctrines of the religion.

That is why atheists are very active on Naira land religion threads

My argument is that banks are investors. Anyone who lends money to a business is an investor because their return isn’t guaranteed.

If Oando was able to raise 1.3 billion dollars, it’s clear that lenders have confidence in recovering their principal. This is basic finance.
Is it today that oando has been getting loan from lenders.
What did they do with the ones they got before this? Debt upon debt.

Mega, did you bother to check the 2023 result at all......or you will just continue to comment based on what another person is saying?

This new Auditor has been engaged since 2023 November or thereabout, so are you insinuating they're not competent enough? Or was engaged specifically to work on 2023 FYE report?
What is the crime in engaging a different Auditor by the way?

The issue I sometimes have with your Oando comments is that you continue to make posts based on your mindset most of the time.

I'm just surprised that some people are just bent on seeing the negativity and debts but was silent on the return to profitability in the first place.......I'm sure they're disappointed that OANDO is making progress so far.

Read thru the attached on page 11 of the report, put your old mindset on one side and try to at least pick something positive out of it.

We have equity holders (or shareholders) and debt holders—both are investors, and both carry risks.

Just like shareholders, debt holders or lenders perform due diligence before committing their money. If a company truly had no prospects, as my Oga Emma suggests, no bank would lend to it. It’s that simple.
Just seeing this.
Debt holders as - Investors

servicing of debt is key.
They must have seen positive pointers in the company.

I just don't usually classify banks as Investors.

Oga Emma's argument is that the majority shareholders (owning more than 70%) will take advantage of the minority shareholders by recapitalizing the company in their favor. If na only this him talk, i for jejely keep quiet. shocked shocked cool
In all of this. I think staying in the middle with the argument of Oando will be better. Turning a corner with the profitability, but again backlog of debts. Making necessary interventions here and there. Raised 1trillion already through debt this year. So it's finally down to recapitalization: the question is how? Right issues or trading a % of their 70% holding. Either way, it's clear fresh capital is needed. Waiting for 2024 results is just one way to be cautionary. Those "who know Wale" will be selling off by Monday(if suspension is lifted) and those who don't know will want to find out what path to recapitalization.

Let everyone do as pleased. 😌

Beware
Of those who write in anger
Who spills out emotionally laden analysis as holy grail
Driven by their previous losses, miscalculation
And blinded by their hatred of an individual

Beware
Of those who promoted dangsug and aradel
As if they knew what they were saying
And got folks trapped therein
Just because of their vested interest and MH

For, whether they like it or not, Oando's audited 2023 result is "RENEWED HOPE RELOADED". The foundation of greatness has been laid and the future is brighter than ever!

I still stand let see 9 months results. A lot happens in a company in 9 months. We have seen companies turning positive or heavily negative in just one quarter.Let see the effect of these new borrowings and acquisition has brought to the table. To me 2023 results is not that important and won't spend much time on it.

Na q3 sugar be my headache for now.i have big portfolio thr and trusted alhaji. Alhaji should tell us what went wrong in sugar. If he had marged was it this kind results he would have produced for the ratio of rice to sugar. Why didn't the backward integration show good synergy.
