emmanuelewumi:
The bond gives me regular income for the next 10 years.

Some of the loans can be referred to as bridge loan, assuming you are expecting dividends and coupons of about N10 million in January 2025, and you see a business and an investment opportunity. You can easily borrow against your financial assets and get funds within 48 hours.

At 30% if you pay back the loan in January which is in 2 months time the interest on the loan will be about 5%.

That means the interest on the N10 million will be around 500k.

Meanwhile you used the loan to get eg goods from abroad with a mark up of 50% and above, thereby making a profit of N4.5 million using banks money
Market always go against your reservations cum judgement, at least this year. You stood for DANGOTE sugar, market went against you and won you grin; you stood for ARADEL, market went against you and won you grin you stood against Oando, market went against you and won you grin and a whole lot of others. Is it monkey hunting or your magic is losing its efficacy grin

My chair reconsult your medicine man cuz the potency of your magic is fading with the fading generation grin

Pa Emma, I've seen you suggest to people to invest in bonds at 20%, which makes me believe you hold some of these bonds in your portfolio.

Now to my question, why invest for 20% then turn around and take loans at 27%? Isn't that like hustling backwards? I see a negative spread in this scenario. My understanding is very limited with bonds, that is why I am asking.
Another reason why people borrow against their financial assets.

Assuming you have Eurobond fund valued at $10,000 in September 2023 when the it was N900 to $1. Valued at N9 million

Based on this United capital gave you a loan of N7 million at 22% per annum. The money was used for business or investment and you liquidated your loan with 6 months and paid interest of 770k on the loan.

When you finished servicing your loan exchange rate was N1200 to $1, meaning the value of your collateral is now valued at N12 million

Just seeing this.
Debt holders as - Investors
OK. we learn everyday
They are all stakeholders as they all put their money/capital into the business and because they are going to put money, they all will do research and DD before taking any step.

If you are to lend money to a business, will you not study the business to see if your money will come? Of course you will

This must be a joke.Market can not win this my oga.if he tells you his BE you go shock for sugar and aradel. He will never participate in stocks like oando. He is not a learner in the business or looking for quick money any longer. How can he lose in something he bought for 200 for one and they later turned each one to twenty. before coming to nse.

Unless I am wrong. That is like #10 for each aradel.

Aside the rapid profit in recent months, OandO has defied (and continues to defy) several marketplace logic.

Don't you think this calls for attention, concern and discourse .... huh wink

Kilode, loan at 30% and 42% Keh.

Even me, the highest interest on my loans is 27%.

Oando should be able to negotiate lowers rates na, abi na cowboys dey give the loans to the company ni
ABI na Lapo loan, big businesses get loans at cheaper rates.

Accepting loans at 42% shows desperation

I can say I got it for free, because at the post stock split cost price of N10 per share I have earned far more than that as dividends from 2017 till date.

It will still pay another N8.00 in November 2024

I am hoping nacho will one day be like this for me too. If they pay at least 3naira as dividend this year, that will be 50% dividend yield for me yearly. cheesy on top over 300% capital appreciation

How much did you buy it.

Nahco was begging for buyers at N2.50k in 2020. Gave a bonus of 1 for 5 in 2022 and paid a dividend of N2.56k in 2024

Dividend ought to recoup the amount invested within maximum of 8 , although I prefer 6 years are below.

Reason why the dividend growth and dividend yield are important

Oando food eventually land for pa emma, Ok o, eat on… I wonder why he has chosen to drink so much Panadol for other peoples’ headache. We, the Oando faithfuls’ are very happy with the results, If Pa Emma did not like it, LET HIM GO TO COURT, long live the CEO of our ever-prestigious company, Prince Wale Tinubu grin.

Above is a joke please.

On a serious note, I want to thank Pa Emma, Ositadima, Agba, Mcy, megawealth, prophetutuocha et al for the discourse, it is reminiscence of those between @currentprice versus @Rabbidoracle with @onlygentleguy. One funny thing is that, there are lots of new things that we often learn from the discussion, worth taking note in future trade in the market. Kudos to you all.

For emphasis, Pa Emma is an investor to the core, he is not after short term gain but long-term benefit to shareholders. So, he is speaking from an investor’s point of view.

Personally, I know oando is not a stock for long term investor, but for traders who thrives in short term gain. Oando will still be good for the next 6 months to 1 year, thereafter, maybe to your tents o Israel…. For now, I will still buy more Oando if the suspension is lifted. I am in the market to make money in whichever stock I see the prospects, regardless of the promoter or CEO of the companies. If people we perceive to have good names like Alhaji Dangote gave us negative returns (I have lost over N10m in DS and NASCON this year), is it a crime to recover the losses from the stocks that belongs to the so-called perceived bad boys/cowboys? Anyways. life goes on.

The higher risk of extending loans to Oando could be the reason for the high rates.

Japaul and chams don dry finish for market.

To buy heavily can only be easier on crossdeals.I did one experiment on them this week and discovered you can only get bulk purchase at a higher price.

Something will spark this big bull next week.
When you see oando ,Gtb,wapco, and some big cap stocks on 10% full bid know say driver don padlock all doors be that.

Those dangerous portholes on ore road have been patched. If you put head na die be that.
