The pastor said he discovered from the Bible that kneeling down to propose to a lady is satanic. He said most people think it's romantic: go into the house and propose, "he that finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor. What are you bringing it to social media for? Must everything be on social media?"

He continued, "People now kneel down and propose, how can the Lord kneel down and propose to his subject? It's like saying they want to ordain the king of this country but the King must lie down. The Lord of the woman is now kneeling down to propose to the woman, and tomorrow he wants to be Lord over her. What we think is romantic is actually Satan orchestrating our downfall."

The pastor went on to make further revelations about marriage while making reference to the Bible.

I don't find it satanic. But it is wrong. Something can be wrong without being satanic.

From the Christian perspective:
Man is naturally made to be the head. He kneeling for a woman during a marriage proposal means she is the head. There is a reason God himself placed Adam over Eve. Those men who kneel down for marriage proposal turn the law of nature upsidedown.

From the Igbo cultural perspective:
A man is to be honoured by a woman. A man who kneels down to propose marriage to a woman should not expect the woman to honour him. He should be the one honouring her and should not complain. It also means that she should be the one protecting and providing for the home.

From a general perspective:
The funny thing is that ladies are desperate to marry men of high values, not minding whether the men will kneel for proposal or not.

Ladies that consider themselves above their men's class are the ones that want their men to kneel down for proposal. Most of them are the champions of paternity fraud. Most of them give their bestie good-bye sex a night before wedding the man that knelt down.

Two categories of men kneel down for marriage proposal. One, men who believe they are not up to their women's class kneel down for proposal because those men consider it a favour when those women agree to marry those men. There's no scriptural references to kneeling down for a woman so the pastor hasn't err however can we also agreed that church/white wedding isn't biblical too or we'd cherry pick the verses that suit us and discard the ones that's totally against what we stand for.

First off, this so-called pastor based on his communication style and looks is a charlatan! He's discussing a very BANAL topic (which is laced with his own ethnic and cultural beliefs) on marriage proposals which he calls satanic and ascribes it to his reading of the bible.

Will you all now drop the Church weddings and white wedding gowns please since they are Western cultural or traditional concepts.

Various cultures worldwide have variegated cultures and different attitudes towards proposals and weddings. Therefore it's important for a young man to do what he's comfortable doing to signify his interest in taking a relationship to another level. Period.
