You have started with, "the Yoruba way of life is better than the Igbo way of life, afterall figures like Adenuga, Obasanjo, and co vindicate you". Type of thinking

The way I see it, if not for education, you might have been a die-hard tribalist, someone who could potentially hurt others for being different.

That said, there isn't just one way to gain from the market. Whether as an investor, like Buffett, or as a trader, different approaches work for different people. Someone who bought Oando at 10 may not share your investing philosophy. They may be a trader looking to profit from volatility, rather than holding for 10 years. Maybe their only goal is to meet a specific target, and they see a short-term opportunity in the stock. Similarly, you, as a long-term investor, might analyze the same stock and find multiple issues.

Respecting other people’s views seems challenging for you, but it doesn’t always have to be your way or nothing. That’s not cool.

Sir EmmanuelEwumi- your submissions 'forced' me to log in and comment having been a silent reader of your various positions on investment issues for the past 10 years. You, and the other gurus in this thread, are gifts to humanity. You will never know the impacts you are making. More blessings,Sir.
Really, I am humbled.

Thank you

People that bought Aradel at #850 are at -52% in less than one month. This is terrible.

Even Caverton didn't slump like this.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 3:11pm On Nov 04, 2024
The money that will be used to pay your rent in January 2025 is not a patient capital, if used to play the stock market with the mind to cash out in the next 2 months, things might not workout as planned and one might have to sell the stock at a loss.

It might happen that a month after selling at a loss the stock might appreciate by 100%.

This N850, was it or NASD or NGX?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 3:14pm On Nov 04, 2024
If the investor who used the money saved for rent psumyin January 2025 invested in a speculative position in November 2024 and things did not come out fine as planned, but got dividend or coupon payments in January that could pay his rent, he won't be under pressure to sell his stock at loss

NGX of course. It equally traded above #800 on NASD before it closed at #702. And then got listed on NGX
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 3:16pm On Nov 04, 2024
That is why it is advisable to use patient capital (money you won't need in the next 12 months) or you have multiple streams of predictable income.

IF ARADEL INTRINSIC VALUE IS HIGHER THAN CURRENT PRICE, THEN WE HAVE GREAT OPPORTUNITIES !
As ARADEL's stock price is declining the selling pressure is reducing; and with the stock trying to find a good demand zone, we can only rely on the intrinsic value of the stock to provide confidence. If the intrinsic value is significantly higher than the current price, then this presents a promising opportunity for a long-term investment.

ARADEL's contraction season is here...

let the shareholder exiting his stake finish doing that first. I see it as an opportunity for new shareholder. nothing do the company . a company with total liabilities of 393B, with EBITDA of 238B, EV of 1.3T , OS of 4.3B with plenty room for improvement going forward.

patient is the key

As an informed investor, after carrying out your research and given adequate margin of safety.

You can always average down a wonderful business which is currently a bad stock if you are investing with either patient capital or you have multiple streams of predictable income.

If I may give an unsolicited advice, a comparison between the ''Irish'' and '''English'' ways of thinking or other distant comparisons would be less rancorous in our context.
Even though I know you are making a simple, harmless analogy, this our ''Yoruba vs Igbo'', or ''Igbo vs Yoruba'' thing can become unnecessarily controversial and emotional.
Let us avoid or minimize it. It is not helping anyone.
The money we are all looking for here is the same for all tribes; it is not different for the Yoruba or Igbo or Hausa
