Uncle T and his gang know what they are doing. Don't forget that he said he will use all his interim dividend to buy the RI. In my opinion, he and his gang would wish small shareholders don't claim their rights so that he and his gang can accumulate more.
I feel the plan is to take the sp to btw N38 and N40. And it will be earlier than expected. By then people will find it cheaper at N35!

The N2 interim div is not for nothing.

I think the N35 price for RI is a little bit high....
I was expecting something like btw 25 and 28, this way he would have easily achieve the target....
Defending is an uphill task.

All the fund they're now using to defend the share price could have gone into the recapitalization itself.
They sure know what's there for the bank anyway....
The higher the RI price the better for the consequential OS. Which is good for all parties going forward.
The fund to achieve and defend the higher RI price is cheaper and better than having a lower RI price and it will be recouped from the SP at the right time. This is my calculation of what is currently happening.

I blame CBN for this happenings. If they were actually correct on the reasons for the share capital raise for banks, then they ought to change or increase it even now cos the raise was based on a $ at N700.
Now we are at N1700+ to a $.

I know the format mentioned which allows for consolidation of grip on the coy (more so it help avoid the ote£ wahala)

The regulator goofed by excluding retained earnings in its calculation and i think that is what d big boys are reacting to by ensuring they are the ones picking up the RI themselves otherwise it would mean making them vulnerable to hostile takeovers.

Conclusively and in hindsight, this might be d aim of the reg and they are thwarting it without roforofo fight.

Have you factored in those who made a quick round trip? Bought at 26. Sold at 35

I do not think the entire ₦22bn was spent by TOE and his allies. Insiders who knew of the ₦35 RI could have keyed in early.

TOE got about ₦4.5bn as UBA interim DIV. cool

robobo:
he must have spent over 20bn since about 3 weeks ago when they started pushing from 24/25

The audited result was released on 30th October.Profit is 980m.This I think is the true result.

On 1st Nov another report which I guess is unaudited was published and if the 13B profit which translates to EPS of 1.20+ is true, market is supposed to respond ASAP despite the bleeding on stocks these days.

Let us do more research on Consolidated Hallmark Group .

@ Mercy ,pls kindly check these 2 reports and respond.
Basis of reporting seems to be in conflict here.......
I wonder why we have two separate reports (interim and audited) when the Audited was ready actually.

The released report for Oct 30th was the Audited and true one, from my own checks.
PAT: 980M.

There is a one off forex gain of over 75% of profit. I guess investors knew why the stock didn't gain much attention after the release of the Q3 report.

You might want to check it again. I might not be correct.

Current book value per share for UBA has already crossed N100 per share. The N35 rights price is about a third of book value per share - a give away price as a result of the way shareholders selling shares anyhow not knowing its value. Deep pockets will just grab whatever rights are not taken. More bullion vans are needed by MM to push the market price above N35.

Disclosure: I am bullish on UBA. Loaded more in the last six months at N23

The capital raise is a forced one by CBN. I hail uncle T. He has safeguarded shareholders from undue dilution from a low priced offer as best as he can.

This is the good side to it if it can be pulled off.

Whether retail pick it up or the deep pockets i think it shouldn't matter.

Make no mistake, the result in page 15 is that of Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Limited. While the report in page 53 is that of Consolidated Hallmark Holding PLC.

You may like to read page 1 to understand the structure of the Holding Company (the group).

All the three pages attached are from the audited financial statement.

NB: This is not a recommendation

The 980 million in page 15 is the profit from the Insurance company. While the 13 billion in page 53 is the profit from the entire group (the insurance company inclusive).

Please do your own research. I do not recommended stocks on a social media grin

EPS stated in the report is 1.23kobo. Less than 2kobo.
Different from 123kobo which is same as N1.23
Notice the word "kobo" in bracket.

Learn to always do your own calculations.

The group reported a profit of over 13 billion, divide it by os of about 10 billion and decide the actual eps.

Thanks for this. I looked at the report and saw (as you have highlighted) that the majority of the bumper profits came from Net interest income. I also noticed the FX gains.

In my opinion the following need to be determined:

1, What asset did they invest in that gave them that much interest?

2, Is this income recurrent? eg, if it is some sort of euro bond, then when do the bonds expire etc.

Right now an investment in this company is a proxy investment in the asset that provided the net interest income. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Just that more clarity is needed

See what a lady sent to me yesterday, unfortunately she missed the opportunity to increase her portfolio because she doesn't like to buy additional shares when they are selling above her average cost price.

I love to average down, but I also average up if the business is growing and becoming more efficient

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 6:09am On Nov 07, 2024
See UBA at average cost price of N2.28k.

She for take loan to buy ar least 1 million units at that price
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 6:11am On Nov 07, 2024
Also UCAP at average cost price of N2.07k.

Also got a 2 for 1 bonus.

Dividend earned is more than the cost price.

With my little experience, I have come to learn that it is good to get good quantity in shares. If this portfolio had been more consistent in buying little by little and averaging down/up as the case may be. She would have been a major shareholders in all these companies and at a good price too. Topping up of a good company is the watchword.
