TheSuperNerd:
TheGoodJoe, you guys need a Rodri stand-in by January. This can't keep happening else Man City will become Cartegena.
Mancity is not serious, so they don't have a backup for Rodri, even with a player at the level of ndidi, mancity will be fine.

Defender - Taribo West

Midfielder - Jay Jay Okocha

Attacker - King James 👑
Seems I'm one of the few that don't really rate Okocha, yes bundle of talent and skills but not really productive. Played for Bolton no trophy but kanu could win FA cup with Portsmouth

Feel same way but it’s arguable because as far as global football is concerned okocha is seen as Nigeria’s best ever not even just as a midfielder. I wish it wasn’t so but it’s what it is

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying mancity should get ndidi, all I'm saying is mancity being a big club should have a backup to Rodri, even as decent as ndidi (minimum criteria)

if I should rate him base on his club career ill rate him average, then in the national team, above average.
Side by side Mikel - JayJay, I'll go for Mikel

Heartland loses their Unbeaten run. Fell 1-0 away at Kwara Utd.

Meanwhile Enyimba losing 2-0 now away at Al Masry in the CAF CC.

TheSuperNerd:
Meanwhile... TheGoodJoe, Heartland's Unbeaten run in the NPFL is on the line again today in Kwara.

Kwara Utd leads 1-0 at HT.

Yobo was Mr Consistent at Everton in the EPL for 8 seasons or so. Top defender. Reliably solid in a general sense. I would say he was near the world class bracket but not exactly world class.

A world class player will feature for at least one of Europe's biggest clubs and make world class impact. Mikel Obi did so at Chelsea in his position.

Another case is making a world class impact in a top 5 league.

zicky:
yobo should be around the world class bracket

Danish Nigerian MF, Tochi Chukwuani currently in action in the UCL for Sturm Graz vs Girona.

Peter Olayinka's Red Star Belgrade in UCL action vs VFB Stuttgart.
Olayinka is still sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury. Did surgery for it in October so his rehab continues.

Oliseh should be there but Jay Jay takes it.

13 Afcon goals and one afcon trophy if not that Nigeria was banned from 98 afcon I believe we would have won it back to back and his goal tally in afcon would have been more

I wonder why Pep is hesitant to give Mahamadu Susoho a shot. I believe he will be better than playing Gundogan or Nunes in that CDM role.

I repeat, when we are talking about greatest Super Eagles players, their club form plays a role. Ikpeba's Monaco form plays a big part in his rep in the Super Eagles.

Then why are we criticizing boniface ? Since club form play key role

Overall you can rate Osimhen over yekini I won’t argue but you see when it comes to super eagle greatest striker yekini hands down the records are there

Defender: I will go for troost ekong, i don't know in recent memory a nigeria defender with a profile better than troost,

midfider: mikel obi: he put nigeria in the world map for a very long time, since he left we have not feel that vacuum

osimhen: I'm sorry i did not watch yekini.

Osimhen hasn't won quarter of the titles that Kanu won for club and country.

Osimhen hasn't had any major impact on any international tournament comparable to Kanu's Olympics heroics.

Daniel Yanez, 17.

Scores for Real Madrid U19 earlier today in the UYL vs Liverpool U19.

Now he is named to the bench same day for Real Madrid in the main event (UCL) vs Liverpool.

Na wa. Lol. No rest for the talented.😂

While Christantus may not be great in his passing ability, he is not bad in providing short passes. I think we can rely on him as an AM, I will pick him over the duo you mentioned, since he also has an eye for a goal, and can help in breaking down defenses and possibly drawing fouls in dangerous areas. Also, I think his imposing style, playing behind Osimhen allows Osimhen to concentrate on what he does best. Need I also add, the more heading threat for us the merrier?

TheSuperNerd:
Lookman on the left obviously. Corresponding LB will be Bruno thanks to his crosses and due to Zaidu's long absence (Zaidu can also cross).

The AM is the conundrum in this setup with Iwobi on the right but I have a few candidates in mind. Will throw in Akinsanmiro or will throw all caution to the wind and throw in Nwakali. Why? because either lads can easily combine with Iwobi's wide but inverted creative approach in the half spaces and even interchange from right to central and vice versa.

Uche Christantus is a workhorse alongside his ball carrying and technical skills so we are covered in ball winnings alongside Onyedika's CDM profile and Nwakali's improved defensive shift.

But Akinsanmiro is my number 1 pick for the AM role for now before a rejuvenated Nwakali because he is the perfect blend of CAM and Mezzala (a side creative MF). Nwakali is a CAM/CAM/DLP profile but not a mezzala hybrid profile like Akinsanmiro.
