Edited:

Just after forecasting impact of geographic location of refinery.

New Refinery in Gombe
https://punchng.com/fg-approves-licence-for-27000-barrels-refinery/
A refinery in Gombe how do they want to transport crude oil to Gombe? Tankers, air or what? Or can they afford to lay pipelines from the niger delta to Gombe?
They think Dangote and BUA (kano born billionaires) no know why them site their refineries in Lagos and Portharcourt respectively?

Nawa Oo.
All these write-ups on the refinery..

I will at best take it as they are at the same stage DR was when former president PMB quickly commissioned it just before leaving.

So PH-R has to be ready just before December holidays to have sth to celebrate before the end of the budget cycle.

things will unfold later on.
Make we give Kyari's NNPC benefit of the doubt.

Lol.. @air grin grin

Ur concerns are legit.
But I think the Magic has to start from Kaduna-R then connect to Gombe via just Bauchi.

Also crude has been discovered in Bauchi.
Just maybe, they are forecasting by the time the refinery comes on stream in few years time, things will be in place.

I honestly don't get why people are buying bank shares today sha. Yes, the lending rate has increased due to CBN, so their interest margin is up. But the only likely direction of lending rates over the medium term is down, not up. After all, all these banks have all this cash chasing limited high-quality lending and investment opportunities, and the easy FX round-tripping is no longer an attractive option.

Meanwhile, the number of shares outstanding has gone up dramatically following the recapitalization. Earnings per share (EPS) and dividend per share will down big time, making their shares ridiculously expensive on a price-to-earnings (or price to dividends) basis. What am I missing?
designking:
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, has increased her stake in the bank by acquiring an additional 10 million shares, valued at N157.9m.

The shares were purchased in two separate transactions between November 26 and 27, at an average price of N15.79 per share. Onyeali-Ikpe acquired 6 million units at N15.95 per share and an additional 4 million units at N15.55 per share.

This move follows a previous acquisition where she bought 15 million shares in Fidelity Bank between November 21 and 22, 2024, valued at N239.4m. The latest purchase, which forms part of an insider trading notification, was disclosed in accordance with the Nigeria Exchange Limited’s regulatory requirements for share dealings by directors of listed companies.

When the CEO of a bank buys shares of their bank, they are most likely looking long term. But even for short-term, there are some banks, such as FBN, that may have a good chance for capital appreciation after their RI.

The United Bank of Nigeria (UBA) says it has signed a business cooperation deal with the French government to commence full banking operations in France.

The bank, in a statement, said Tony Elumelu, chairman of UBA Group, signed the deal with Antoine Armand, the French finance minister.

According to the statement, as part of President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to France, Elumelu signed the agreement in the presence of the Nigerian president and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The statement noted that “the agreement is a significant indication of support by the French Government for the development of UBA’s full banking operations in France”.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Elumelu said the partnership reinforces UBA’s commitment to providing seamless international banking services for its customers – “not just across the 11 Francophone African countries it serves, but throughout Africa; and French and European customers transacting with Africa”.

“Expanding into France is a natural progression, with Paris serving as our European Union hub, as we continue to bring Africa and the world together, through innovative financial solutions. Paris will join London, New York and Dubai, as a critical component of our unique global network,” he said.

UBA operates in 20 African countries and the United Kingdom (UK), the United States of America (USA), France, and the United Arab Emirates, providing retail, commercial and institutional banking services.
