I’ve not had the luxury of such because this is Nigeria. I’m surprised mongrels in this forum have done so. I don’t believe 90% of the stories posted.

I’ll use my time on Nairaland as my example. When I penned 10,000 comments only to realize I learned nothing here, saw many topics recycled and bingos came here only with trolling as their intention. Shout out to whichever moderator will post an upcoming waist bead topic to the front page.
You are shortsighted. Topics will be recycled cos new set of youth are joining forum. Even in qoura n reddit, it's the same pattern.

From the day my ex wife came to my workplace, met my CEO and reported me to my supervisor about our marriage issue.

The most painful part is the lies she lied against me, and rubbishing me before my supervisor whom we always have office issues before.

I had to leave the next month when at an occasion of argument with my supervisor, he mentioned that I should keep quiet, "you that you can not put your home together" He said!

I changed it for him like mad, and that was my last day there.

The weyrey wife couldn't get the monthly stipend anymore as no job is at hand!
Sorry to ask are you still (husband) married her if yes you are sleeping in a house while the roof is on fire

I worked for a very popular MD in a renowned oil company.
He is retired now, we worked under his own business.

The man is a devil's advocate.

I was happy I worked under him and experienced all the employee abuse,
No public holidays
No December bonus,
Nothing
You get a promotion, your job role and duties will be tripled but your salary gets a 2k5 top up.
Capitalism at its peak,

I was happy because the experience made me swear never to work for anyone ever in my life again, I almost tore my certificates
He made his staff work on Saturdays without pay, but if u miss a day due to illness you are deducted twice wat your daily ay calculation was.

There was a Muslim holiday for 2days I had to stay home to be sure I wasn't imagining things,

End of month my salary was deducted times 4, oh wow, this one na die. Had to get rid of all my certificates, and went into street hustling,

If I post the man name here , you do Google search and see him, you will not believe such a person that enjoyed so much employee welfare in a foreign oil company in Nigeria will subject people to slavery under his own company,.

Ppl wicked for this Nigeria oo
Post his name pls but in a cryptic way

You are totally wrong for showing your new employment letter to your boss.
Is your boss a family member of he sponsored your wedding?
I don't understand.

I got another job 2015 with bigger salary so I presented the offer to my current employer who said that he will pay so that I will be retained. In 2016, my salary was cut down by 33% to former scale before increase after I had rejected the job offer letter.

I left the company immediately

Each department get their own stress, while marketers have unreasonable targets, people in operations have unreasonable SLAs and there is no flexibility in the work.

When the idiotic boss slapped me over an offence I never committed. Besides, he was always insulting me in front of customers, my subordinates and his friends. I left after collecting my pay at the end of the month.

For mine, I just wanted to do a little hustle before the new semester as school was on break. It was a cleaning job at an oil deport in Lagos. I think the pay was supposed to be 20k.
First day of resumption, I had to put on rain boots and their uniform on my black trousers. I was literally going to fetch a bucket of water at the back of their toilet after anyone takes a piss or so, I was really sweating. I complained to a colleague that the job is really strenuous and all he said was "sun neva even come outside sef"
Omor that was all I needed, I was done. I returned their uniform and rain boots, I was done.
The security guys were really laughing at me shaa....I resumed work by 8am resigned by past 11am....
I later got one PA job to do during that holiday (sitting down with system morning till night), we were really closing late ooo but I preferred being on that system to carrying water up and down....I can't come and kee myself😅

Oga you are part of Nigeria's problem even if I feel for what you went through.
What is this syndrome that I see everywhere that the oppressed and victims would always seek to protect the name of their oppressor? What slave mindset is this?
Or is it a made up story?
Evil persists because we fail to name and shame oppressors.
I am beginning to suspect a kind of wickedness in it to keep silent. You want others to also experience it also?
There's definitely something wrong with our psyche as Africans and Nigerians which always push is to always indirectly or subconsciously respect, protect, rever and defend abusers.
SMH!

Na God go punish ICST then in Ikoyi.

You cannot put in generator except Md is around.
Every day you have to explain to MD why diesel gauge has gone from 50 litres to 49 litres.
Before you use A4 paper, one piece oo. You have to sign.

You cannot use office Wi-Fi, only MD can use it.

Very useless company. I resigned after one month.

MD refused to pay me till today. Kayode Sodimu na God go punish you.

The stress was too much, early resumption time and late closing time led to series of sickness monthly. I had to quit and get myself adequate treatment instead of only one day off for treatment that they usually give. Imagine having typhoid but they will only give you one day to treat it. Same day that you will come to work to report the sickness issue is the only day they will give you.
Thank God they later increased it to two days off after many staff members quit
I dey give my boys two to 3 days off.... Max 3-5 days

At the Interview, I knew the job wasn't for me! Three elderly people interviewed me, and at the point where they usually ask interviewee the question "can you tell us about yourself?" which normally is a brief summary of one's work experience , these elderly people Said I could have mentioned personal information instead of work experience. When they finally talked about salary, I was offered 30k for a job that shouldn't be less than 70k; Immediately, I started crying within myself when I thought about the amount spent to get there and what they presented as offer!

After the interview, they said they loved the way I dressed, groomed myself and my performance; that i should come the following day as their overall boss would be coming and would like to meet me!

I looked at them and shook my head. I've already spent a lot to get to the company, they expected me to spend same amount for nothing, just to come see their boss!! I left without looking back.

I feel for you, but if you can still afford up to $100 above, I have nich for you that would enable you to earn dollars daily at the comfort of your home with just your phone and Internet connection and you won't have to work for anybody again.

Keep in mind: you're not going to send 1kobo to me, I'll only put you through the process of what to do. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
