phadriz:
Japaul turnover for 9 months in 2024 is N2.14B, the same company got a contract of average of N1B per month. The company is to start Gold mining on or before Jan 2026 which is about 13 months time, during the period they will start installation of the gold processing plant. The news of the commence of the installation of the facility could drive the price to N10. I don't think I need a prophet to tell me to buy 50m units of Japaul.
What are you waiting for or it has not been availableon the floor. We call our units buy here afolabi units for a reason ..lol

WAPCO
The agreement....
https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Listings-site/corporate-disclosure-site/Documents/Lafarge_Africa_Plc_-_Dec_2024_Press_Release.pdf

Seems these officials in charge of uploading do get high on cheap drugs sometimes......
They re-uploaded the emergency board meeting which was held yesterday again...
Shouldn't there be a system in place, whereby already uploaded docs will be flagged when there's an attempt to re-upload it? huh

This was before I knew they could offer such a premium, wow.

If you average cost price for Lafarge is N30 and below, I think selling at N100 is good enough.

My fair value before the acquisition was N70 getting to sell it at N100 na jara
They want to collect one of my planned retirement stock with BE of #20.23.I stock coming out with great products that will make them hammer. Do you know it is the only company about to introduce naija made pop cement as every other pop cement is imported. These chinko people are gradually taking over all our construction/building materials market. They have taken over wood / Funiture, glass,Aliminium profile, metal doors, iron rods, rot irons, tiles and now they want to grab cement company that will be producing pop cement. What is left in that sector. The bad part is once they take up any unit you cannot compete with them.

Except someone that is extremely large or the Directors or long termer or someone that already write it off, who could have just picked and abandon it there, it's not easy for an average person to stay put in a stock at car park for that long......"hoping" it will one day deliver like this.....
It's a risk that's eventually worth it anyway.
Congrats to Megawealth01.
Exactly my thinking as well I will have sold a long time ago

Please you are free to believe this clueless, incompetent government at your own peril. It is your choice.
They say they are for ''free market economy'', whatever that nonsense means to them.
Governments in developing nations are supposed to take deliberate, targeted decisions to intervene in key areas of the economy to achieve desired results for the benefits of citizens and eliminate or reduce poverty.

A government's attitude, pedigree, antecedents, integrity or lack thereof forms part of their policy credibility and policy appraisal.

A president that would announce a major policy decision like subsidy removal on his inauguration day when there was no cabinet in place, no ministers, no industry or stakeholder engagement, etc. to provide some guidance on the procedure or methodology etc.

A government that woke up one day, without any meaningful stakeholder consultation or engagement and devalued the currency from about N650/USD to N1400 /1USD.

A government that promised Labour and gave them assurance that fuel price would not be increased if they accepted N70,000 as minimum wage, but a few days later deceived them and increased fuel price from N600 to N1000.

A govt that woke up on day and imposed astronomical increases in electricity tariff on citizens without any consultation etc.

A government that woke up one day, without any citizen engagement and changed the national anthem as if it is the personal copyright of the president.

This government takes bizarre actions before it seeks for advice or informed opinion. Such a government cannot be trusted on anything. You are free to trust them though, if they catch your fancy.

Tinubu's government is the worst government in this Republic! You can believe the lies that the CBN and Fin Minister tell you
To wake up to major change in cost of clearing goods when goods are already on the sea was a shocker for me, that single decision almost sent me back to village if not for some level of diversification and God's grace eh.

Oga, This is not a thread to express political sentiments but to analyse how government policies or lack of it, government actions and inactions affect investments so that we can act and take positions.

For example, in the US and UK where the governments are not clueless, incompetent and useless, the stock markets do experience similar things just like we see it in 9ja.

Okay o.
I hear you; all the statements above are factual and true but I am not disturbed as such because my focus is not to be right.

If I believe all these as dead end, I won't touch any company in Nigeria with my money nor be on this platform/thread to glean information on the best place to position. Despite them, my NSE portfolio increased greatly, much better than the LSE and NASDAQ within the same period even with the FX fluctuations. Where do you see bulls of 300% to 1200% in several companies within a short time?

Don't mix the issues. The performance of stocks on NGX is not the making of this clueless Tinubu govt. Infact the NGX would have performed better if not for the Tinubu govt that has made many companies to record huge losses in the last one and half years. So don't confuse the two issues. We all are using the NGX as a means to make something for ourselves in spite of the difficulties

It is almost surprising, although somewhat understandable, how little people understand the impact of FX policy and devaluation. Oya, adjust your portfolio and its 1000% gains for currency devaluation, i.e., quote it in US dollars. Then compare with someone who kept their money in dollars and earned the average 25% gain of the S&P 500 index.

Result: You are a lot poorer than you know. But continue suffering and smiling.

The title of this thread is "Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts" and not about politics or an evaluation of the government of the day and their policies. I keep redirecting you but you were bent on forcing your opinion of the government on us in this thread.

Without considering devaluation of our currency, how much were all these companies that returned 300% to 1200% some years back? Do you know the price of wapco and oando some years back?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by thebargainhunte: 11:17pm On Dec 02, 2024
In June, 2014, Oando traded intra day high of #36.89. Let us assume that dollar was @#170 per dollar in that June, it means that Oando at that price was $0.217. For Oando to worth the same price in dollar presently,it has to trade above #369 (pegging dollar at #1700). grin grin grin
