I think it depends on what the SEC/NGX regulations say. The Q3 2024 result was not mentioned in the Notice of AGM so I think they can hold the AGM without it

Whatever Wale does, one day, I will surely sell some of Oando and move the funds to TB once the price gets to my target range and then leave only few units behind for possible price gains/dividends in the distant future.
Price (capital) appreciation in the medium term is my main target for buying Oando.

Like the information released by SEPLAT on NGX today. I guess Oando must have published something similar. Will be good to compare.

This news didn’t move the market. That means it’s not new information.

Interesting disclosure on Aradel: https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/42692_ARADEL_HOLDINGS_PLC-ARADEL_-_PRESS_RELEASE_CORPORATE_ACTIONS_DECEMBER_2024.pdf
Good move.

Was this a plan B after the Renaissance/Shell deal fell through or maybe it was meant to be the icing on the cake? Looks like the latter.

As per their previous press release, the quest to acquire Shell's asset is still on.

I like the moves being made in the O&G sector.

The market is in Xmas/New Year mood. It is usually bearish in this period and prices hardly move up.

When it comes to regulatory disclosures and investor relations, Seplat has such a high standard that it may be almost impossible for Oando to match.

Oh boy! See detailed presentation na. A lot of work sifting through the web, results to find corresponding data on Oando.

for those panicking about wapco and selling, i have been in the nigerian stock market long enough to know that those selling now will regret it in the first quarter of next year. wapco is an exceptionally sound company and a bargin at 65 naira and because of this I will be purchasing more.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by parisbookaddict(f): 5:10am On Dec 11, 2024
i think those FPI will see the naira gains on the dollar as an incentive to stay put on the market. my fear was that a continuing depreciating naira would discourage foreign participation, especially after a trump win. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

Best to cash out the profit when you see it than to lose everything. We would be back again before that first quarter 2025 when we see the body language grin

Indeed some work needed to compile similar information for Oando. And the compilation may be incomplete especially around funding. From the little work I did it seems Oando has more reserves but lower current production than SEPLAT, suggesting it may need more fund injection to attain potential for the country.

Without some form of currency controls there will be increased demand that will pull the price up as supply is not as high as speculative demands.

You can see the push of speculative demand in the video below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0uoeq4nxrY

A relatively stable exchange rate is good for businesses as it allows better planning. While an unstable one is risky for businesses. CBN may need some form of currency controls to stabilize exchange rates. The willing buyer willing seller approach cannot give stability for businesses.

China’s Huaxin Cement To Challenge Dangote, BUA In Nigeria After Purchasing Lafarge Africa.

The new Chinese entrant in Nigerian cement is likely to ramp up competition, experts say.
Dangote Cement and BUA will face a new challenger in Nigeria from Chinese newcomer Huaxin Cement, which is buying an 83.8% stake in Lafarge Africa from Holcim.

You do know that the only thing certain in life is uncertainty...... You sound as though you're clairvoyant.

Bigger & better stocks have performed below expectations in the past.

Let's try to be moderate on optimism.
