I pray Elumelu considers taking more shares like 70-85% stake in his listed companies. It will help him(and help us too)
I think he will take more of UBA (and help us too by creating new higher price support for UBA). Doing rights at a low price would have resulted in a lower price support for UBA.

Currently, FCMB leads by volume with 30M units traded, while JAIZBANK is seeing heavy interest with 9M units traded so far.
High trading activity often reflects investor interest or reactions to news/events.

The real question is..
Why would Alhaji NOT list his refinery company,

Listing gives more credibility and access to a company. makes valuation somewhat easier, and transparency much better

And as someone have mentioned, he needs the working capital, and equity long term in his case will pay him, because of no debt obligation tied to it
You can list, raise money , do your thing and then go back private (the Dell computers playbook)

But at this point , the upside exceed the downside for listing
If Musk and Bezos and Zuckerberg had this mindset.aint no way they will be as rich as they are today
You said your opinion and did not choke. Thr are big businesses in nigeria before the refinery that have refused to list. You did not say way nnpc is not seeing all you mentioned. The last time I checked even glo is not listed,Mtn was arm twisted to list. All I know alhaji has crossed the biggest hurdle which was capital to build the refinery. Working capital will be easy to raise via other means. All that he needed capital at this stage was emotional war as per what government was trying to do to his business. The people who needed his products can easily pay up front and he can equally get crude on future payment deal.wapco and fmn that want to delist want to keep everything to themselves. I don't see alhaji listing that refinery any time soon ...my opinion .why is Dangote limited the parent body to all alhaji businesses not listed yet

u sabi, plus another advantage is it help prevent the Ote$ effect/threat (hostile takeover)

this is an example of situation where our (retail investor/minority) interest (better pricing) aligns with that of mover/shakers.

After the RI and records are updated it will be clear if Tony took more UBA. This may only be know after about 6 months.

Tony buying a major chunk of the RI at a price higher than what the retail market offers injects money into UBA for the benefit of all shareholders. This is unlike a major shareholder buying up shares in the market to raise prices by injecting money into the hands of traders without long term benefits in terms of enlarged shareholder funds. I like this approach by Tony. This makes me give UBA a long term value (treasure) stock rating. This rating means those currently holding UBA should not sell it, but rather look for other shares to sell should they need urgent 2k.

my statement is as concern only the bolded.

He is definitely going to take up more. he had alluded to same during last AGM to the effect that he is savings his own dividend up to take up his right and more if possible.

That is in the hand of Mr Market who can even decide to bring the price further down instead of up. I can only guess dividends should be about N4 yearly going forward or at worst should not be less than N3. I can also roughly bet EPS going forward should not fall below N12 even with the expanded number of shares.

Lol, God will preserve us to see the future. They say what you tell a woman to bed her is always different after beding her.The war alhaji fought was achieved via saying many things to have different class of Nigerians on his side. I have been waiting for yrs for alhaji to list Dangote limited which is the company making all the money for alhaji
I am not taking the refinery listing seriously till I see serious initiatives towards that is what I am saying. I did not say it can't happen. Wale is presumed to be turning a new life.Toni changed.Alhaji was stopped by SEC from scamming us via rice company so anything is possible.
Why has nnpc refused to list now that it is a limited company as they claim. You no I be street I no dey just swallow everything they say in the media e get why
