When I was in final year, writing my final exams. One day I received a call from a boy, Bankole, who I registered for WAEC the previous year.

I knew him from my base in Akure, he was my mentee. He called me that he was on his way to Ilorin to spend some couple of days with me. I said fine even though he never told me he was coming...


When he arrived, I tried my best to make him comfortable in my one room apartment.
But he was far from comfortable. He would always complain that he wants money. He gambles, if I give him money he gambles with it. I think I stopped giving him money but there was food in the house.

He would tell me to my face that I was living below standard that he would occupy a flat and have a nice ride at 100 level.

I told him it's fine but I am fine and contented in my little self con and I use the bus or taxi to school.

He was trying to do yahoo and he would always meet my Landlord and I saw them severally cahooting, whispering and conspiring...

My Landlord was an Alfa and I have never asked him for paracetamol.
He started going about with one guy called Principal, a ne'erdowell and dubious fast talking element.

At a point I had to inform my closest pal, neighbor and coursemate. We both tried to instil sense into Bankole but Bankole was adamant.

At some point I started seeing him with strange items and fetishes...

Like he would wake up midnight to boil water, take sand from outside, bath with black soap and always looking for Hausa sponge...

I stopped eating in my house.

I later stopped sleeping in my room. We share my bed.

I had a red short that he likes to wear.

After about a month, he left for Akure, I also left for Akure after my papers.

I wore that short that he often wears, Omoh I started scratching my body like I was infected. It was really serious.


I went to a clinic. They said it's bacteria infection. I have to disinfect my body and clothes infact the man said I must get rid of all the clothes I had worn since the itching started. I did that.

I bought new clothes. I spent money unnecessarily.

To cut the long story short.
I was inside FUTA one morning, trying to get cash from the ATM when one of Bankoles friends called me and said Bankole is dead.

DEAD!!!?

HOW?

They said that morning he just complained of stomach pain and he was dead in seconds😳

Who does that?
Bankole.

Infact they had to bury him ASAP in a shalow grave as he still have parents and was like the last child.

It was pathetic....

After some months I went back to Ilorin for Clearance and some fornication.

I still stayed on my old street at Lords and Queen's hotel. Then I saw my Landlord and I told him of Bankoles demise.

The man said Haaa, he must have got more than what he bargained for... Can you imagine?

It means he knows something right?

Anyway Bankole is dead and I know he must have shook hand inside dark magic to get money...

Bankole was a very jovial guy he was about 17. He was very funny amd friendly.
